for some reason, one day when i activated gamejackal, all the profiles are now asking for cd's to be inserted, these profiles were perfectly functional yesterday, any hints as to how i can fix this? that and for some reason i've also lost the ability to change skins, now i've only got the default one.

this happened once i upgraded to v2.9.18.607, i then uninstalled then reverted back to v2.9.18.600, my problem remained.

Can you please post the "profile" and "launcher" log files for one of the games not working. I can tell you that GJ would have not modified the profiles between versions.

These are no longer shipped with the installation... maybe down the track.

hi, i ended up just re-profiling all the profiles that were corrupted, now i'm experiencing something different.

my profiles seem to start failing after a few days or so of creating them. what to do i do to start rectifying this, re-profiling everything all the time does get annoying.

profiles failing all the time

hi, i spent a good amount of time the other day re-profiling my active games list. for some reason i find my profiles don't work (as in the game asks to have the game disk inserted upon using a gamejackal startup). these profiles were all tested after they were created. now they are rendered useless.

Do not create multiple threads involving the same issue, please. :policeman:

sorry about that, the other one is a slightly different issue.

after re-profiling all my active profiles, i have now experienced them failing once again. they each ask for the cd to be inserted when i tested them individually after each of them was created. i'll repost my launcher and profile log files.

now my situation is beginning to get a little ridiculous,

i uninstalled gamejackal thinking my situation would be remedied by a fresh install of the program. i backed up my profile library folder so that i could just copy the files back to reinstalled program folder.

i then discovered that each of my active game profiles had been corrupted somehow, and that each asked for the disk to be inserted. i then went through the process of re-profiling each game, only to find that 2 minutes later the profiles had become corrupted again. i've done this re-profiling step 3 times now on each game only to find that they keep getting corrupted only minutes after they are created.
the version number of the program is v2.9.18.600

please not that these very same profiles were working perfectly fine about 1 week ago. in that time i switched to a Quadcore QX6600 from a E6300 Core 2 Duo, i'm not sure what implications this would have.

Have you tried selecting lock capture mode after your profiles are successfully made? I have noticed this similar issue happening here with some of my profiles but not all of them, i just had to persist with the profile until it updated enough, after that i then make sure i lock capture mode and that seems to work for me.

yes, i make it a practice to lock all my profiles after i make them (this is when they are working). then after a few minutes, the profile becomes unusable, sounds strange doesn't it?

now i'm finding out that none of my profile are working consistently. especially bf 2142, whose profile fails just seconds after i wiped and recreated its profile.

i've tried two more things,

1, i've updated from v600 to v607 thinking there would be some change in the gamejackal program that would allow my profiles to stop being so tempermental. although now i find that it is mainly BF 2142 which is being stubborn. no matter how many time i pass it through the profile process it does not want to work.

i then reinstalled bf2142 thinking there was something wrong it that would prevent it from being profiled, this didn't solve anything.

i have a feeling this problem could be related to an issue i had previously where i was profiling my games, what happened is that gamejackal would occasionally hang the moment i was supposed to insert the cd to start the profile process.

i really hope there is something that can be done to remedy my situation.

here's the profile log for bf2142 startup

Hmmm... it shouldn't have any. All those games work with GJ. Did this issue arise before the hardware upgrade (it's not clear if that was the case)?

just to update you, my situation has now been isolated to BF2142 not profiling properly. all my other games seem to be working now after my update to v607 (i'm not sure why that is but i'm not complaining). no matter what profile scheme i use, my profile for bf2142 DOES NOT WORK (even right after i make it). i'm out of ideas as to how to rectify this situation.

Well that is better news ;)

With the BF2142 profile running... are you able to browse the dvd drive (i.e. open "my computer" and double-click your dvd drive, you should be able to see files etc even whne there is no dvd in the drive)?

i can't get that far, this is because within about 5-6 seconds of me clicking my bf2142 profile, it asks me to insert the DVD, the profile is then automatically deactivated by gamejackal.

Yeah thats what kept happening to me when i had trouble with creating profile for DVD game version of lord of the rings-the battle for middle-earthII "LOTR-BFME2". Matt hinted me on the way yet it did take alot of attempts to get a successful profile creation maybe what i did will help you?

I first scrapped the profile i had and started again.
Created profile using the wizard yet i had to find my own target for the game's .exe and also had to enter the game's name to the map list.
Just when you are prompted to insert the game's CD/DVD into the drive, made sure i had quick launch select & also the image mode.
Inserted (in my case) the DVD and ran the game.
After i closed the game and the GJ created the profile (which when tested did not work and i was asked the insert the correct game's cd/dvd and restart the game) , this made GJ deactivate immediately.
I then inserted the game's DVD, waited for the game's auto loaded splash screen to appear and quit it.
Then went into GJ and ran the profile again, this time it used the disk and game loaded, after exiting the game the profile updated itself again.
Tested again and still no luck without the game's CD/DVD in the drive.
I had to numerously repeat the steps i noted above and finally the profile worked. Not once did i delete the profile, just took me atleast 5 times maybe 7 times of continuous testing and then restarting profile again but with CD/DVD in the drive and letting GJ keep profiling.
After that finally worked i then locked it. Which once again it stuffed up later on.
I then right clicked onto the profile and i had an option to select update, which i did (i was asked to insert the game's disk and the profile worked fine).
Also after that a couple of times the profile still asked for disk, which got annoying at this stage, but i would let it deactive and i would immediately try to run the profile again right after getting that error and the game worked without the disk.
After all that i haven't had any dramas with that game since.
Even though i don't have that particular game that you have, just possibly, this may help you?
