I have AnyDVD and Shrink but could not get shrink to to open this DVD. I downloaded the trial of CloneDvD to use with AnyDvD and still could not backup this DVD until I selected the movie only then had to sit for 20 minutes and keep clicking retry because of error messages before CloneDVD could handle it. Is this because I had the trial copy of DVDClone?
More than likely a bad original disc. However, please do step 8 and 9 for me: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=393

(I have backup many discs and never had to change the region code?) Should I be messing with it?

You need to disable Anydvd when setting the region code of your drive. By the way, a few people here had no problems: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=2112
