Edit: Registration08 is the coupon code that will give you 20% off
I have no idea how long that will last for

1. SamuriHL says, "You want to disable the arcsoft connect service in your services control panel. Then check your startup items and remove the arcsoft daemon. It will make your life better."

2. SamuriHL also says, "update Java".

3. Try the new beta (or the latest update if the latest update is newer):

4. Update your asvid file: click http://www.arcsoft.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1417&PN=4

And for those people worried about problems with older versions of the software, if you do purchase TMT the English download is version 2.1.6.126 which is the latest official release. After using the coupon code it comes out to 41.99 USD.

I love ArcSoft. My favorite player. :agree:

Due to stability issues it definitely isn't my favorite but feature-wise and the UI are definitely nicer in many ways than the other players. I was waiting until I found a hefty discount on it before I would spend money on buying it. For 40% off it was worth the price. :D

will this version run with anydvd running? i have a non complaint projector so i have to use anydvd running to play a movie. i cant get any fox isos to play anymore on pdvd 8 either, i keep getting an update needed and i have the latest version then is says updated but as soon as i try to play the movie it does the same again. i dont know what happened because they worked fine before i reformated and did raid 0. if the tmt will work the price is good, just dont want to waste money if its not going to work.

It will run with Slysoft products beautifully. Like all products, it works "best" if your system has minimal codecs. Latest Fox titles are problematic. An update is forthcoming. Take advantage of the coupon, unfortunately the trial isn't up last I checked.

I went ahead and bought TMT with the coupon last night as I figured it is always good to have a backup player, thanks Webslinger.

Played a couple BD's and a couple ISO backups just fine.

Does not have a 4.1 speaker selection which is what i run on one of my systems though it seems to sound OK.

I think I remember seeing an option to be able to get lifetime updates but that may have been a different app (convertxtodvd).

Strange I installed it and it has not asked me for a serial and the purchase email does not contain one. I am waiting to disable the service and daemon till I figure that out but it has been stable so far on Vista 64 and 32 bit.

There is no serial. You received the full install. Do not lose the installer file! I'd burn it to a blank disc and store it somewhere.

I remember reading somewhere to remove something after the install can you kindly poit me in that direction please DrinkLyeAndDie?

Nevermind I couldn't get it to work on the trial so I won't be buying it. I'll stick to powerDVD.

Yeah I figured that out after messing with it last night it seems the serial is embedded in the file they send me the download link to in the purchase email. They have a program you use to register on their site and it will show you your serial. Interesting way to do it.

Ditto that. At that price it was worth buying it and putting it on the backburner for now. The original trial BSOD'ed my system but I'll try it on a new partition later.

PDVD is getting too bothersome, and apparently TMT can handle some issues better - right now I'm working on getting full HD audio which TMT should handle, as it is bundled with the ASUS-AV1 HDMI soundcards.

The earlyxmas09 coupon code works until December 5th.
SamuriHL says, "You want to disable the arcsoft connect service in your services control panel. Then check your startup items and remove the arcsoft daemon. It will make your life better.
Edit: By the way, when outputting 1080p to an HDTV, TMT typically crashes during playback unless I uncheck "Keep aspect ratio", under the "Setup"-->"Video" menu in TMT. Something to keep in mind if the program is crashing for you . . ."
Thanks for the code and the tips. TMT has great PQ but reboots on WinXP SP3 when navigating iso (no problem with original disc). I'll try the tips now

Edit: did the tips, now I get a BSOD with ati2dvag driver (CAT 8.10). Too bad, as it seems to do what I want with the audio (extract DTS core over SPDIF instead of LPCM 2.0 with PDVD - DTS core gives my receiver the ablity to use THX Select2 decoding, which is what I want unless I go analog 7.1 in, which is a major cabling pain but works with PDVD for HD audio).

Have to try it in a clean partition - too many other possible conflicts in my current setup. Looking very promising, though.

If you're using XP I'd try rolling back to earlier graphics drivers. Admittedly I was using PDVD (I don't use TMT as I find it to unstable on systems), but I've found that with some films (Pale rider is one that always causes it to crash) if I used anything later than 8.4 then it Blue-screened all the time. Same problem under Vista if I use anything later than 8.10. I've tested it on multiple systems and could always get that film to crash if I used later drivers than 8.4 on XP or 8.10 on Vista (BTW it's also VC-1 and all the films that crash are also VC-1, although not all VC-1 films cause the systems to crash only some of them)

Does it fix the 'Double click on the TMT Icon reboots my system' error?
