anydvd_8.4.8.2 rip_to_hd mkv

I have tried to do the rip three times with any DVD (8.4.2.0 first)-then 2x with beta. It is a little slow to rip but finishes fine. Then Make MKV reads it, I then select the part I want to convert but it never progresses- seems stuck. So I quit after a few minutes. I do this workflow will...
