not really accurate i'm afraid, xvid started off as a oss fork of divx, but has now surpassed it, it has better quality although is slower and uses a completely different encoder. search the forums for an xvid profile for 1201 (not 1610).

ripping with anydvdhd is what removes all of the protection. the burning stage has nothing to do with that.

i don't think even gigabit ethernet has enough bandwidth to stream a bluray, does the ps3 have gige, i doubt it, probably 100baset or 54g wireless?

the only problem with these is that when slysoft switches from mencoder they will cease to work. i doubt they even work with 1.2.0.1 beta that uses ffmpeg, let alone clone-bd's chameleon engine.

the whole slysoft suite works fine for me using vmware or virtualbox on linux, both of which are available for the mac too (i think i tried fusion on my mini). one thing about macs is that they have rubbish matushita dvd-rom drives in them that cannot be made region-free with firmware or anydvd.

vmware server 1 and virtualbox 2 work fine for me.

mencoder's crop support would be nice to have in mobile, to remove black bars etc.
