Who's doing that? Slysoft have my money, I have their product. I'm not expecting to be invited out to visit them. They're a company, I'm a customer; I'm under no illusions that we're "friends". I'm just pointing out that DVDfab's new software seems an awful lot like the new XBMC that's due out soon.

Wow that's weird. A bunch of features coming up in the newest release of XBMC, and blu-ray playback that VLC just introduced. All packaged up nicely and charged for. Seen as this is the internet I only have one thing to say: MEGA-LOLZ.

Was it this bit that gave it away? :D The disc may have degraded over time or been damaged. Or perhaps was a poor quality burn to begin with. You may be able to find a drive that can read the, now damaged, backup in order to copy it. However you'd be best off getting the original disc and doing...

The original DVD can never be modified. The warning is referring to any backups that you make being unplayable if you have the option checked.

It's not something that AnyDVD can detect upon scanning the disc. Which so far as I can tell, really only leaves the option of manually maintaining a list that comes with the AnyDVD installer. Personally, I am not in favor of this.

It's all down to the speed of your CPU. Encoding is down to the speed of your CPU, rather than the speed it's reading at.

I'm curious. When you come across new protections do you add a section to AnyDVD which is specific to a disc, or will it defeat the same kind of protection in the future if another film is released with similar protection? To phrase it another way: are you throwing a rock at a pigeon, or a net...

Have you tried running the disc's through VobBlanker after ripping them. It's fixed similar issues for me in the past. FixVTS might also be worth trying.

I should expand. The LG still had a hard time ripping the disc, it kept stalling and I could hear the drive stressing itself, it just didn't fail like the internal drive did. The internal drive on my linux laptop also had a hard time ripping with MakeMKV. The disc was badly pressed, there's no...

Just thought I'd add a note to say that my laptop's internal drive couldn't rip or play the 2012 DVD. Playback failed at around the 7min mark and ripping failed at about 20%. Playback and ripping worked fine when I plugged in an LG external DVD reader. There might be a lot of bad pressings around.

You need to enable the "Aggressive I/O Mode" in the options.

The retail copy worked fine for me last night.
