When I plugged the device into the USB hub, I placed the CD into the other DVD drive, and it installed itself, and then asked me if I wanted to install PowerDVD which I did. Every re-start, the software scans for updates for the firmware, but I disabled it because it does not need new firmware.

The LG that I purchased came with a CD that does include CyberLink/PowerDVD, but it also came with a software that loads at startup to check for new firmware. It is always good to rule out if any virus is installed and preventing a software to properly function, and/or detect device drivers...

IF this is not a disc protection, then I would be inclined to say that you either have a bad/defective disc, or your drive is unable to read from the disc. I would try to clean the disc, and/or return/exchange for another. Or try another machine if you have one. BUT this is what I see in your...

There are read errors while processing this DVD. You might want to try and clean the DVD with a clean cloth. This DVD might be going bad/defective.

I'm seeing Read Errors in the log file. Since this is an old title, I am less inclined to say that it is a new protection. Most likely it is a bad/defective disc.

Submit a System Log file using AnyDVD program files, system information. This way, we know what version of Anydvd you are using, and if the files in your machine is being updated properly.

Did you "Retry" ? What operating system are you using ? Do you have Administrator privileges ? What happens if you uninstall and re-install ?

Can you please create a system log file... just wanted to see what services are running in the background. Or hard disk managers, or data services. How to create a system log file is in the program group of AnyDVD.
