Microsoft A Pain In The Butt Again

TaeOH, I'm pretty much in the same situation as you: on 2 of my 3 computers I'm still running WIN7 (until they stop providing security updates in 2020) and on my laptop I have been using Linux Mint (17.3 Cinnamon 64bit atm) and I'm very happy with it. I don't see any future using Microsoft OSes...

    Lifetime licenses? Why keep them?

The former SlySoft now RedFox staff have always been very courteous to the whole community and have always shown a lot of understanding and patience. They certainly have plenty of work to do at the moment e.g. restructuring the company and of course setting up a licensing model securing the...

    legal thoughts

Yes it's true that their server got hacked with links implemented pointing to a contaminated .iso-file, which was really unlovely. So you are always supposed to check the md5-hash of the downloaded files (Even on windows systems I do not merely rely on my antivirus as such threats may remain...

    legal thoughts

On two of my 3 machines I'm still running Win7 and will keep on doing until there are no more updates (support is supposed to end in January 2020). On the other one I have installed Linux Mint 17.3 (a derivate of Ubuntu) and I must say it's really easy to handle, just as intuitively as Windows...

The ODROID XU4 has been on the market for about 3 months now. Apart from the GigabitLAN I love the idea of being provided with USB3.0 instead of the sluggish USB2.0 (just like the RASPI 2 as well as the RASPI 3 feature). The octa-core CPU (a Samsung Exynos5422 Cortex™-A15 2Ghz and Cortex™-A7...

IKEA is even worse as they often do not include all the screws needed or the manual is horrible ;)

Not bad for the price but it still lacks USB3.0 & GigabitLAN. Imagine transferring a (U)HD-movie with USB limited to the standards of 2.0 or network activities limited to 100 Mbps. They should have at least implemented those two features!

Hmm, the fan could be quite a nuisance regarding the noise it may emit. Maybe I should get one within the next few days to see whether it is too loud. But you must agree, the hardware specs are really seductive.;)

    (y) Me too. The fox seems to be more tenacious than its hunters may have thought. Also renaming the forum to RedFox.Forum is a good idea as SlySoft is history. Unfortunately the domain redfox.com is already assigned to some sort of Bed&Breakfast :(

Yeah, a Linux-version of AnyDVD would be awesome since I decided not to jump onto Windows 10 spyware-crap and considering the fact that support for win7 will end in less than 4 years. Furthermore don't wanna support the company that has contributed to the fall of SlySoft ;)
