I did have a problem ripping before updating to 8.0.3.1. No problem ripping "I Am Wrath" (Region 1) using version 8.0.3.1. The hardware is a CD-DVDW SN-208FB internal burner on an HP desktop.

New protection: Deadfall I hate it when that happens! *Wink* I report these issues because if there's one or two bad discs that I encounter, then there are probably more. It wasn't that I was questioning the development team.....but I've been correct at times about it being a new protection...

I agree. I've encountered read errors before on bad discs. I've tried several discs but will continue to check on this. I believe its a new protection but I could be wrong. Time will tell.

Thanks James! I disabled AnyDVD and set the region on the new drive and then re-enabled it. I ran AnyDVD and had the issue noted above. However, when you noted that I still needed to set my Region code, I went in and saw that the Region Code in Windows was set to 1 but AnyDVD was still...

I concur with HAMsmoke.....This issue occurs with the original disc as long as AnyDVD is running....but as soon as you disable AnyDVD menu selection and movie playback returns to normal.

Problem ripping using AnyDVD 7.0.7.1beta. Will attempt to copy movie only using CloneDVD2 As always, a log file has been attached.
