Predator 2 (1990) (FOX) Jerky playback

Running AnyDVD 6.4.7.9 on 64-bit Vista SP1. Scandinavian version of Predator 2 won't run at all on either PowerDVD 8 or WinDVD9, with or without AnyDVD. The latter blinks an error message too fast for reading, and PDVD shows a studio-created text screen which urges the consumer to download the...

    PowerDVD 8.0 Ultra Released!

Right. Except, no. Maybe this issue is covered later in the thread (haven't read it all the way to the end yet), but in case it isn't... DTS-HD MA soundtracks do *not* contain DTS-HD High Resolution data. MA and HR are two different codecs/extensions, and don't co-exist on top of a DTS core...

HD-DVD movies that won't work with Anydvd HD 6.1.9.9 beta

I believe that's an issue with the Nero player. I consider it still a beta product.

    AnyDVD 6.1.9.8 beta

Peer & co., is it within AnyDVD's (future?) capabilities to help users grab screenshots? As you know, PDVD disables screen capture function whenever playing HD/BD titles and that's a massive pain in the bum for me. I have a professional need to cap screens from HD/BD, especially of the menus...

    AnyDVD 6.1.9.5 beta

Yes, and it's old, and already called by Warner as "misquoted and misconstrued". See http://hddvd.highdefdigest.com/news/show/Warner/Warner_Says_Blu-ray_Comments_Misquoted_and_Misconstrued/1135 Warner supports both formats, period.

    Ripped Day After Tomorrow

I tested a rip of FF2 on the Japanese Digital Theatre 2. Copyright warnings and trailers work, as does the main menu, but the movie itself does not.

    HD? Not there yet

The only bit interesting in your post is your confusion about aspect ratios and pretty much everything else.

    Ripped Day After Tomorrow

But is this a case of a bug in PowerDVD? Has anyone tried burning ripped data along with BDSVM directory to a BD-R/RE and play that in a stand-alone player?

Where did you get an English language version, if I may ask?

Ah... some trojans can masquerade themselves as afc.sys, I see.

Player Software for HD DVD movies? NOT CYBERLINK!

According to ArcSoft, they should have an English language version (called TotalMedia Theatre) for Europe and North America out "very soon". No idea what that means in actual days/weeks/months.

Player Software for HD DVD movies? NOT CYBERLINK!

ArcSoft themselves told me that "ATI UVD acceleration is not fully supported", and we were specifically talking about HD DVD and BD playback. I use HD2600, too, and I'm well aware that when video acceleration is enabled, CPU load drops. So there is some support, but it's not "full support" - yet.

Player Software for HD DVD movies? NOT CYBERLINK!

Well folks, turns out I was wrong, and good thing too! Digital Theatre 2 is not based on WinDVD after all. That's good news, right? The bad news is that at the moment it doesn't have proper ATI UVD acceleration support in place. Nvidia is fully supported, however.

    List of BD+ Discs/Revocation Issues

You didn't; I just missed the part where you mentioned a PC. It's like Adbear commented. BD+ won't prevent you from playing the discs on your PC. You only need to use player software that is BD+ compatible. PowerDVD should be, I think.

Yeah, of course. But that's in the (possible) future, not right now. My answer was about the present day.
