Ok I found this comment recently on the CloneBD forum. .....I don’t think the devs watch this site any more, so it might be an idea to send an email to support@elby.ch just to inform them about your solution..... Is this correct ?

I read from an earlier post that there was an old problem with DVD style subtitles when ripping to mkv, which the poster says had been fixed with a CloneBD update. Well I re-converted the above X-Men title because I needed the forced subtitles for the non-english scenes and chose the DVD style...

Just an update. Done a full disc backup of Dumbo (20019) using AnyDVD HD 8.3.8.0 and CloneDVD2 2.9.3.4 using this drive with no problems what so ever.

I found an old Pioneer 109 drive which appears to have the firmware patched to make the drive region free. I have an USB adapter to use on my PC and was going to use it to rip, to save wear n tear on my newer drives. My question is would AnyDVDHD work with a hacked region free drive ?

James, I can confirm that AnyDVD 8.3.4.3 and CloneDVD2 2.9.3.4 works with this Region 2 UK title.
