So any DVD will rip 2K BDs and UHD BDs to uprotected ISOs but it can't make unprotected DVD ISOs? I haven't touched a DVD in years but it used to create unprotected DVD ISOs. WHen did that change?

yes. This is what I looked at. Any DVD HD showed that playlist 301 was the correct one. But there was no 301 listed in MakeMKV.

So I just tried this disc and it said playlist 301 was the correct one. But 301 didn't exist on the disc when I checked with MakeMKV. So I'm confused as to what to do now.

IMGburn also has an adjustable buffer. I think it maxes out at 1GB for each instance of IMG burn open. But it comes in handy when I rip four or five BD titles concurrently. Otherwise I just rip to an ISO using the Redfox ripper. I'll be using it soon since I'm at least three dozens titles...
