Very weird issue when ripping 4K blurays (or blurays)

With 64GB of RAM? That's unlikely :) There is no issue if I have the browser already open, but try to keep a browser open over a few hours without ever closing it instead of minimising it... That's when the issue happens. It might also happen if I open a new tab. I have plenty of free memory...

Very weird issue when ripping 4K blurays (or blurays)

I did try that when it started (as well as changing the GPU driver) but it didn’t help. I’m really posting to hear if anyone has ever experienced anything similar. I’m used to debugging issues, but this really leaves me stumped because I can’t think of a connection between browser and UHD drive...

Very weird issue when ripping 4K blurays (or blurays)

Sure, here is a log from the 4K UHD that failed today (Topaz). Note that the issue happens with many titles, and I have two identical external drives and it happens on both, so it's not title or drive specific. Finally, the rip that failed today when I started Chrome completed without any...

Very weird issue when ripping 4K blurays (or blurays)

Hi there, Posting here as I'm scratching my head with a very weird issue. I've never experienced that in many years of using AnyDVD with both blurays and 4K blurays. Here it is: When I'm ripping a disk (external Asus UHD drive), everything works fine as long as I don't open my browser (Chrome...

Problem with Chernobyl UK Bluray, AnyDVD HD and Oppo 203 clone

That was it! I enabled SMB 1.0 and my shared drive automagically appeared on the Oppo after reboot. I was able to test on the fly that the blank screen issue was indeed due to the the region code. Thanks a lot, works a treat :)

Problem with Chernobyl UK Bluray, AnyDVD HD and Oppo 203 clone

Thanks for the hint, but I didn't manage to get the Oppo to see the physical disc in the HTPC. I shared the disc in explorer, so it should be visible in the workgroup when I browse the HTPC from the Oppo, but when I try to connect it fails. If you have a link to an explanation, I'd love to see...

Problem with Chernobyl UK Bluray, AnyDVD HD and Oppo 203 clone

I looked at the settings (better late than never) and I realized that region code removal was inexplicably disabled (I usually have it on automatic). So I enabled RC removal, ripped to BD folder... and it worked fine, of course. So there was nothing special about the DVDfab...

Problem with Chernobyl UK Bluray, AnyDVD HD and Oppo 203 clone

Hi James, Simply because if you do this, you can only start playback manually, using the player interface. You can't start playback with remote IP control on any files (.ISO, .MKV, etc). You can only play folders (DVD, BD, UHD). You can try with the Oppo app, you'll see it doesn't support ANY...

Problem with Chernobyl UK Bluray, AnyDVD HD and Oppo 203 clone

Sure, I just wanted to make sure first there was some interest to look into this :) Here you go, attached the log of disk 1 Note that there shouldn't be anything wrong with it: the disk can be read and ripped fine by AnyDVD. The resulting rip is just not valid for the Oppo 203 clone (though it...

Problem with Chernobyl UK Bluray, AnyDVD HD and Oppo 203 clone

Weird issue with this title and AnyDVD HD: - If I rip it to BD folders with AnyDVD HD, I can play it fine on my HTPC over the network (with menus, I use jRiver), but my Oppo 203 clone can't play either disc (same BD folders rip, same network). I get a blank screen, and back to the player...

.properties files missing on Paramount and 20th Century Fox titles

Thanks James. I don’t see how only .properties files would have an issue when writing them and not the others, or why anydvdHD would not report such an error. Anyway, if you say this hasn’t been corrected I trust you. I just have no idea what happened or why. Can’t save to ISO (except 3D) for...

.properties files missing on Paramount and 20th Century Fox titles

As I said precisely in the jRiver report, the original discs were ripped to BD Folders with AnyDVDHD. It's definitely AnyDVDHD rips as the disc.inf is present. I have no idea why these .properties files were not copied at the time (it's unlikely they were deleted selectively afterwards). I...

.properties files missing on Paramount and 20th Century Fox titles

Hi there, I've experienced a weird bug with AnyDVDHD rips of Paramount and 20th Century Fox titles. The menus wouldn't work. I reported this in the jRiver forums initially https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114628.msg831335.html#msg831335 But after some debugging, I realized...

    The Commuter

I think you don't want logs for UHD Blurays that can't be read, this is one of them. Please let me know if you wanted a log.

DeUHD Tool can rip UHD Blu-Ray discs

The problem is not only to pay them safely. It's to open your network to them 24/7, as DeUHD needs a constant connection to the internet to work. That's why I didn't even install their free demo. Great that Makemkv and now AnyDVDHD are supporting an alternative method. Tested with success with...

DeUHD Tool can rip UHD Blu-Ray discs

The price is much less of an issue than opening a backdoor into my network to Russian hackers. I wouldn't install the software if it was free, except maybe in a completely sandboxed VM. Looking forward to Redfox's solution though :)
