the ANY! folder is basically just a backup of the original AACS folder on the disc. the players (tmt3/powerdvd) look for the AACS folder. if it doesnt exist they assume the disc is not encrypted. im pretty sure that burning without the ANY! or ANYVM folders should work.

the toshiba driver is still the best bet the microsoft imapi stuff doesnt seem to work with any degree of consistency. stick to the toshiba driver

if you have access to another computer, try downloading using that. it sounds like a problem with your browser.

without a log the developers cant help! 1) insert the disc 2) right click the anydvd tray icon 3) choose create log 4) post the zip file here

I think kaspersky is picking up this file becase a lot of rootkits try to install themselves using similar techniques

LOL probably right. I know TMT doesnt work. it uses themida which detects vmware. in the past i managed to defeat the detection, but i think they have updated to a newer version. :P Maybe i will spend some more time getting one of them to run

Charlie: engadgets review mentions a hack to get Quick Launch back in Win7 RTM. i didnt try it yet tho ive always just used the run box to launch most of my apps. I only use windows for a few minor things tho. mostly im a linux man :D
