I do know that I can go and change the settings every single time before I rip a disc. I thought having this option would be beneficial from the perspective of usability.

Another request would be if Speed Menu can be made a checkbox like setting which can be enabled or disabled when one starts to rip the disc. Just makes this feature even more usable.

I was wondering if anyone had information about Cinavia in the firmware of the new Sony BDP-S780. If it supports Cinavia I dont intend on buying that for a friend.

A quick question out of curiosity, from the first page I understand that Takers DVD is protected by Cinavia. how about the Blu-ray of Takers, is it also protected by Cinavia?

Agreed, so I guess if Oppo BDP-93 supports Cinavia at a later stage it wouldnt play then. Till then I should be safe.

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if I back up a Cinivia protected disc then if I play the back up from my hard drive will I end up getting the Cinivia message.

I guess it was bad media, got a different disc and that worked.

^ Thanks for the detailed reply. I am using the latest official firmware for my drive which is 1.03. Except for the drive region I did everything else. I am trying to get another copy of the disc to see if it was just bad media.

Well according to the posts above one can disable Virtual CloneDrive by setting the number of drives to "disabled" and turning of the tray menu. I believe VCD daemon starts up and exits based on the settings. Wouldnt be better if there was something similar to "AutoStart" feature of AnyDVD. By...

I was having similar problems all of a sudden. Setting the Region Code to 1 solved it. I never had to do this before. Weird all of a sudden I started seeing the same error.
