    You can't change the resolutions only. You need to do the profile compatible with MPEG4 ASP (divx or xvid) instead MPEG4 AVC (x264), because lower resolutions are not supported by AVC on PSP. Also, you don't need to change the profile because all profiles are fully compatible

    No, IDX/SUB is VobSub format, that is image format (bitmap). IDX is a index to where each subtitle is in SUB file. DVD Fab can export IDX/SUB in vob passthrough option. Other options the subtitle is "forced" on video like CloneDVD Mobile.
