this disc does appear to be strange...after twice in a row doing the "repair" thing...I tried a 3rd time after backing up a different movie and it worked fine. So I really can't say what was going on...maybe it was just some quirk the first couple of times.

If I am reading your post correctly....you should stay with the speed media your burner was made for. There is no benefit from using 16x media if your player burns at 4x speed. Will it hurt to use 16x media? I never tried, but I have to think it could. Worst case is the media is just plain...

That was my problem, I have all audio tracks except English normally turned off. So I had a great backup with absolutely no sound. Then I forgot to turn on the English subtitles, so backup #2 had only Spanish sound. A few clicks later and everything was fine with backup #3

While I feel for those whom have bought and are having troubles...I can add my name into the group of first time no problems with this backup using both AnyDVD and DvDClone2...most recent versions.

I am over 1000's and use the Vaultz hardsided storage cases. They easily stack and I have marked each one so I can know them apart when looking for a specific disc. I know there are cheaper products, but I like the look and functionality. Suits my needs/tastes great.

did I read that the DVD plays OK? Then will someone (Amazon or Showtime) replace a disc because it "wouldn't allow a backup? I assume you're just going to tell them it won't play at all...I just thought it was funny to return a disc because it won't copy :o

The thing I loved about Talladega nights was the fact they DIDN'T play it like a comedy. It was seriously done, but just chock full of humor. Too many comedys TRY to be funny, instead of just playing it out.

I thought the movie was ok....not Talladega Nights, which I thought was very funny and not a movie I took very serious but enjoyed very much. While Stranger than Fiction had funny points, it is not a full out comedy. Well done by all the actors and well worth watching. Would I recommend...

I kind of figured this out myself, in a short moment of brilliance LOL I switched drives and put the original in my burner...and dang if the movie didn't make a complete backup. Now the opening studio graphics are wacky, but once you get to the menu and into the movie everything seems fine...

well my region on the new DVD unit is set....but that still did nothing to help in my DVD reading problem. Begining to think I might have gotten a bad copy of the movie. Although it seems to play fine, the combo of AnyDVD & DVDClone2 (latest versions) just won't complete a full read of it.
