    hunger games mockingjay part 1

Just a question, I get movie only as being only 16 GB not needing compression. Is this right, seems awful small?

    AnyDVDHD and or CloneBD?

Yes, that was my reaction too since it's not much good without AnyDVDHD. There is free software that will do the job. I'm a big fan of Elby, I'm a lifetime AnyDVDHD & CloneDVD user, but I'm surprised at the price for what you get.

    DVDFABHD is recommending AnyDVDHD

Yeah, luckily my investment at least 5 yrs. ago in AnyDVDHD lifetime more than makes up for the loss. ;)

    DVDFABHD is recommending AnyDVDHD

Sorry about that, I originally posted this to be more about how AnyDVDHD was being recommended by your competitors; a feather in your cap. I didn't expect this to become about DVDFABHD and was certainly not recommending it.

    DVDFABHD is recommending AnyDVDHD

I'm afraid you're misinformed about a couple of things: 1) I DO have a lifetime license for DVDFAB, the Bluray Copy part and it was pretty expensive, especially since they make you pay for each capability separately. You're obviously talking about the free version, but there was a premium pay...

    DVDFABHD is recommending AnyDVDHD

I have lifetime licenses to both AnyDVDHD and DVDFabHDDecryptor. A few months back when they were sued, DVDFAB removed the AACS decryptor from their software. They assured the lifetime members that they would continue to support their earlier versions thru their China website. Well, they no...

Keep Protection (Blu ray/HD DVD)" ticked or unticked?

Why bother doing it twice, just remove the protection in the first place. Then you can even make a copy from the BDR if you eventually delete the iso, after all they do take up a lot of space on your HD. You can also take the BDR to a friends place to watch it.

    Switching to blu-ray?

MPC-HC and MPC-BE (bluray version) both work great for me. Plays original, HD and iso rips and copied BD movies.

    Removing DVDFab

Just curious. I've had both on my computer for years now and never had a problem. I know DVDFABHD tells you to disable AnyDVD, but never seen a warning from AnyDVD to disable or uninstall DVDFAB. Is there some conflict?

    AnyDVD HD Stops

Just because it looks OK without smudges or scratches doesn't mean that it is OK. Sometimes it is a manufacturing problem. I once had a disc that I replaced 3 times and it turned out to be a bad batch. It can happen with any manufacturing process. Now doesn't that make more sense than putting a...

How do I play a DR 'HD' movie file on my PC ?

Have you "finalized" the recordings in the recorder. Usually there is a step in the recorder menu to do so in order to play recorded discs on a different player. What format does the recorder record in? There may be a way to convert to AVCHD format which most newer Bluray players will play. I...

    Rip to image option

Are you absolutely certain that you unchecked "keep protection" and didn't put the wrong disc with protection in the drive? It seems to be your basic AACS protection. Usually the log will say protection removed. Try ripping it again.

Exception error with American Hustle redbox disc (dump inside)

I stand corrected and didn't mean to get on the OP, just warn him. Attitudes here have evidently changed over the years because the warning I gave was the one I received years ago when the logfile I sent in said "Rental" in it. I was refused help from the mod and the thread closed and received a...

Exception error with American Hustle redbox disc (dump inside)

I don't know how many times people need to be told not to mention Redbox or any rental discs in this forum. This is strictly for back-ups of movies that you own. You can be banned, but even worst, this site can be sued or closed down. Believe me, just look at the DVDFab situation, there are...

Hunger Games Catching Fire correct mpls

Please don't say that you are copying something from Redbox. That would be illegal. I'm surprised that a mod hasn't said anything, normally you would be refused help right then and there and some forums could ban you. The Fair Use ideology is that you can make a copy of a disc that you own and...

Can't copy Blu-ray "Les Miserables" to ISO

The damage could have been to the blank before being pressed. Every manufacturing process has rejects that may not have been caught.

    Captain Phillips subtitles not visible

Don't ever say in this forum or any other that you are ripping something from Redbox. That is illegal. It is your disc that you bought and want to backup. Get it?

    Captain Phillips subtitles not visible

There are 2 English subtitle files on Captain Phillips, usually when there are 2, 1 is for the hearing impaired and the second is the forced subtiles (the one you want). I just choose both when you process your ripped file. It does not increase the size much. Make sure you have the subtitles...

    Compression of BD movie

I don't know where you're getting BD50 discs for $3 a pop, I really have to wonder about the quality and longevity of those discs. Who makes them and where do you get them? And, of course it's one man's opinion... the OP was asking for opinions. I have a great copy of Elysium, movie only, on a...

    Compression of BD movie

AnyDVDHD > BDRebuilder > ImgBurn, never failed me and I've done hundreds. If you do "movie only" you'll never need any overpriced BD50 discs. The compression won't be enough to notice any video degradation. I have a 60" Sony TV and I can't see any picture quality difference from the originals...
