Has anyone tried the new CyberLink "PowerToGo" version 6; looks like it is starting to develope into a nice program. Wondering if the new PowerToGo burning program is compatabile with AnyDVD and the rest of SlySoft programs.

Nero 8 works fine with Vista 32bit.

The H62, which is SATA version of the H42 is a solid burner also; I had the priviledge to review it for CDF.

Problem solved; gave my drive to Tplat.

Just finished up a review on the Memorex DVD+RAM 525GE external, based on the LG drive. Should have it published in a short time. I am looking forward to the Asus, it is their newest and a SATA.

USA Asus will be sending the new SATA 1614 in a couple of weeks, I will perform the sheep test as soon as I get the drive installed and give a short report here. In the review that you link to, Megadeath reports it as a "3 sheep burner" and knowing him as I do, I would take his word on it...

Didn't Shrink do its own basic decryption back in the day? Seems it did if I remember correctly.

This is a weird problem Tom, as I said, occasionally I could get the 16A7S to read by enabling safe-mode in AnyDVD but then the next time I tired it would fail again. Really just a hit and miss adventure. I think Hiro might be onto something by using one of the liteon tools to make the drive...

Hiro, glad to hear you fixed your problems with the drives; sad to hear you can not remember how you did it. LOL I think I read somewhere than Slysoft made some changes in AnyDVD to solve some of the problems with the liteons, but if they did, it did not help me with my drive.
