Nope. It looks bad. It can look great at high bitrates—overall quality is much more than resolution—but streaming providers don't provide 720p streams at a sufficiently high quality. And if they did, it would remove some of the space advantage anyway.

Ah, I see! That's actual fairly normal for remuxing in my experience, although I couldn't tell you why. I don't think it's related to AnyStream though, or OP's issue.

Anystream downloads the video and audio bitstream from providers untouched, but it's pretty clearly remuxing those streams into the final file. You don’t need to re-encode to fix audio video sync, except in really weird cases. IMO, unless this video is also out of sync when it's played on the...

^ I'm going to add that you should probably include what software you're using to watch the movie, since that wouldn't be in a log file. Even if it is a problem on AnyStream's end, the player you're using might also matter. (Some software handles slightly malformed video files better than others.)

Not in the movie theatre you didn't! Film has a significantly higher effective resolution. I've seen different estimates, but most seem to converge somewhere around 1440p, depending on the film.

But why does AnyStream have this feature if it doesn't work? If I said that a provider wasn't working, would you tell me it wasn't a bug because I can disable that provider?

AnyStream has an optional setting to organize downloads by series. You apparently haven't enabled it, but OP has. If the option is there, it should work. If it doesn't, that's a bug. If the option isn't supposed to work, then the option should be removed. Please don't take this the wrong way...

Quick note that you can actually splice and concatenate movies without re-encoding them! Ffmpeg can do it, there are probably GUI options too. The only slightly tricky thing is that each segment needs to start on a keyframe (they can end wherever you want).

Totally going to echo this request! It would be lovely. Alternately, this is the type of thing that would be easy for users to add themselves if AnyStream allowed users to specify some type of post-download script!

Does non-16:9 content on Paramount+ download with or without black bars burned into the video stream? Through Amazon there are no black bars (at least in The Good Fight), which I very strongly prefer.

A provider can pay one of their thousands of employees to monitor the forum (or test AnyStream) and share the status with the rest of the company. A bunch of individual AnyStream users have to each search through the forum themselves. The lack of a clear status page hurts AnyStream customers...

FYI, it's supposed to be impossible for user-space programs like AnyStream to cause BSODs. That doesn't mean it is impossible, but if it happens it's technically a bug in either Windows or a Windows driver, and a pretty serious one at that. All of which is to say, this probably isn't a bug in...
