I've had this issue once before and I believe I fixed it by removing the VC redistributable and reinstalling AS. You may have both 32 and 64 bit, you should only have to uninstall the one that matches the AS install you have.

I would think this development is due to AP having more issues than they bargained for with the DRM changes and have reverted back for the time being. I highly doubt that it will stay this way.

I just found something else to do. Not a problem at all. Get an actual productive hobby, like playing music or writing, and issues like these aren't even a blip on the radar. It's far more satisfying. Haven't even been watching the movies I've already got anyways.

I do understand that hardware is fakeable, but that's not the same as hooking into an obvious flaw and simply reading what you need and will require far more development than what AS devs have done so far.

We are all in that same boat. I would suggest learning to play guitar or maybe some other hobby to occupy your time. I would rather play guitar anytime and movies are what I do when my hands get tired.

The devs are well aware of this situation. They have explained so in many posts. AP titles will not be available in 1080 for the time being. Amazon has changed the protection scheme which has basically broken HD downloads.
