That would not help, if your issue is that you are unable to decrypt the disc. The obvious solution is to purchase AnyDVDHD. If the disc is unsupported, it will be eventually.

Also, for info, with Coffee Lake processor, Pioneer BDR-211 blu-Ray drive, Asus A390 motherboard, Windows 11 version 22H2, PowerDVD21 continues to play UHD blu-Ray media OK without AnyDVDHD running. Windows update hasn’t broken SGX (so far).

It may appear to you that the problem is with AnyDVD, but recent changes to enable some Official Pioneer drives to be used for ripping using libredrive could cause AnyDVD to hang. It’s important to ensure MakeMKV is up to date, if it is installed, or, if you don’t need MakeMKV, uninstall it.

More information is required. e.g. What model of DVD drive are you using ? Is the disc you are trying to rip detected in Windows when AnyDVD is not running ? Do you have makemkv installed ?

I’ve been able to play 4kUHD blu-Ray media, initially with PowerDVD 17 Ultra, since first setting up an SGX compliant Kaby Lake/Pioneer 4K UHD internal player platform in 2017. Recently upgraded to a Coffee Lake platform running Windows 11, still working OK.

Not sure what you mean by windows update breaking it. That would mean Microsoft selectively withdrawing driver support for a group of Windows 11 supported processors. (Coffee Lake is a Windows 11 supported processor).

No issues reading UHD discs using AnyDVDHD 8.6.0.0 with friendly drive Asus BW-16D1HT (MakeMKV not installed). Seems to be working OK, at least for this friendly drive.

That statement was the position prior to development of support for Official Panasonic drives via the latest AnyDVDHD version which supports libredrive. If you plan to use the drive for burning, Panasonic (apologies I meant Pioneer, it was late !) drives are worth considering.
