Transcode using CUDA to HEVC portable format fails with transcoder stop error: 0xc0000008

The Quake BD hits a transcoder stop error: 0x80004005 near the end of the transcode to BD25 using CUDA (I bias the size a bit higher than the conservative default). Log attached. edit: the disk played okay.

Curious if the fix here is only for Hellboy or does it fix similar problems with other discs? I've run in to this kind of issue numerous times with full menu discs.

Your issue made me think of a recent problem affecting some Windows 10 1809/1903 users wherein the NVME drives have zero throughput but are coming up at 100% disk usage. It may not be connected to your problem but it seemed eerily similar. You can read about this issue here to see if it affects...

Geez, didn't even realize the HW encoding was off. I just had the same issue pop up with Trading Paint disk and after setting the nVidia encoding it does seem to be processing! You'd think by now those type of issues would be getting fixed. My 20 core's not in such rare company any longer.

Tried AAC, AC3 and 5.1 and stereo, audio is always in the left channel only. Transcoding with Handbrake now, which does have a mono setting, just takes a couple hours and there's 25 of these movies! The second movie has the same issue apparently.

@Reto : Is the initial setting based on any calculation of this entropy or is the initial slider setting arbitrary? If arbitrary then I may benefit by making an adjustment, if not arbitrary then leaving the calculated value would be better, IMO.
