Which blu-ray drive is fastest for ripping [Pioneer, LG, or ASUS] Can you disable ultraquiet/riplock

CloneDVD never read protected media ;) , no matter which version. @DaGoatRancher I have 3 Pio BDR, 4 LG BD-R, Liteon 112. Can´t say that the 209 is more quiet than my BH16NS55 at same speed, but both are more quiet than my Liteon.

Which blu-ray drive is fastest for ripping [Pioneer, LG, or ASUS] Can you disable ultraquiet/riplock

But CloneBD can only read non-protected BD, could it be? Here some results with a protected 37GB-BD: LG WH16NS58 1.V1: 26:20 LiteOn iHBS 112 2 PL06: 26:39 Pioneer BDR-208D 1.50: 37:07 Pioneer BDR-209D 1.34: 31:53 The 209 is very similar to the 2209, except the BDXL and...

Which blu-ray drive is fastest for ripping [Pioneer, LG, or ASUS] Can you disable ultraquiet/riplock

AFAIK quiet mode is the default with the 2209, at least with protected BD-movies. Theres a way to disable it, but you have only the choice quiet or fast, both together can not work. How many GB have the BD you need 30 Min?

Which blu-ray drive is fastest for ripping [Pioneer, LG, or ASUS] Can you disable ultraquiet/riplock

Same ripspeed but absoluty quiet? Can´t believe that. AFAIK the 2209 read 2x out of the box in quiet mode, you will need hours to read a BD DL. At this speed all my drives will be quiet :)

    BD Blanks discussion

It´s goldish like in your left photo I burned only one of them, used Pioneer BDR-209D, the quality is mediocre. Can´t say anything to the longevity, will see it in some years. Some ppl say other manufacturers maybe also produce for Vinpower/Optodisc and use the same codes. Optodisc in Germany...

    BD Blanks discussion

Hm, I have Optical Quantum BD-R 4x with code OTCBDR002. I think I mentioned that PHILIPR04 are something like a wildcard, some smaller manufacturers use the code, the quality of this code varies a lot

    BD Blanks discussion

Guys, it´s not that easy Ridata and Traxdata are Ritek-brands, so if you buy them you will get Ritek, bad enough. Sony stopped production long time ago, then Ritek continues produce for Sony good BD-media with Sony-standards. Now you get here Sony-branded-media from Ritek, RITEKBR3. The worst...

I burn bluray movies at 16x write speed with CloneBD just fine

Wow, big discussion now here ;) Speed: Like Ch3vr0n already said, rated speed could be better than a lower speed. It depends on the writer and the media. BDs are generally specified with a low speed, so you have a real bad drive or real bad media if you only get an successfull burn at lower...

    List/database of writers?

Well, I don´t want to have all images on the HDD, takes much space. It´s a not so new PC, runs on WinXP because some of the games not works with Vista or newer At our Netto-Discount I get a 50pcs-Cakebox of CD-R-media for 3,29€, so I bought one and made some tests :) My first Tests with...

I burn bluray movies at 16x write speed with CloneBD just fine

Yep, so in theory ;) It depends on the drive-Firmware-programmers which speeds are allowed. Some manufacturers are a bit more conservative, others are a bit more adventurous. With BD-R the most driver-manufacturers are adventurous, burn a BD-R 4x and 6x at 10x or 12x is mostly possible. With 2x...

I burn bluray movies at 16x write speed with CloneBD just fine

BD-R-media is getting more cheap, in price and quality. I start in 2013 with BD-R, the oldest media I have is Panasonic 2x, which is not bad but also getting more worse. I only use HTL-media,not LTH. I test the burn-quality with the LiteOn iHBS 112 and Opti Drive Control, so I see if the error...

I burn bluray movies at 16x write speed with CloneBD just fine

Like with every other media there are big quality differences, but overall BD seems to be designed to lost data ;) . https://www.test.de/filestore/4119083_t201008040.pdf?path=/protected/14/36/c0347785-057b-4056-9f3a-74186a18b444-protectedfile.pdf&key=6947F342C1E58781DACD4B230D09E06959D15E13 I...

I burn bluray movies at 16x write speed with CloneBD just fine

Yep, thats true, I know it, I´m Burn-Pro since 2000 and even knew CCD 1.0 ;) But it also depends on the media, I have good media which I can burn over 23GB without probs, and cheaper media which gets awful over 21GB, no matter which speed I choose. I mostly burn DVB-S/S2 recorded movies and so...
