    Will not play anywhere. What threw me off was the message from my DVD player which said it was "incompatible". That made me think it was something wrong with the region or with CSS. I've accepted the fact it is a defective disc.

    Although in pristine condition, I did clean it and the drive region is set to 1. Still no good :(. Sounds like I got a bad DVD from the start. Mike is probably right and the DVD is just "kaput". Anyway, thanks guys for trying to help.

    DVD is in pristine condition. It was still wrapped in cellophane and was opened just prior to placing it in the player.:(

    I have a retail version of "Meet the Parents" which fails to have the protection removed. My new DVD player refuses to play it saying it is not compatible and my PC DVD device does the same.
