Bump wondering if there is any progress on this front myself.

    Not seeing protections?

I'm not jumping through anymore hoops. I tried to do this privately (via PMs) but you insist on pressing the point publically so here. DVDFab made (and MAKES) a perfect copy. Never missed a beat. Case closed. I got what I was looking for; a copy of this DVD for my 3 year-old. I was trying...

Go back and read the previous pages. We've done all of this.

    Not seeing protections?

No. It stops in exactly the same place it stops with CloneDVD and when trying to rip with AnyDVD (appears to be about the same place). FWIW, it stops at the same place on my friend's original too.

Plays like a champ, James. I've kinda skipped all the way through it with WMP but I'm convinced it would play to EOJ. If it was going to fail, it would have given what I was doing. Thanks so much for your help.

    Not seeing protections?

Without going into great detail, they are all totally different drives, OS's and the whole nine yards. There's virtually no way an identical problem could exist on all three. One was a lab machine that has nothing on it ever except a base XPP with SP3. It's kept that way just for testing...

Don't know. I'll let you know shortly. I do know it plays to end on my daughter's DVD player.

Just sent you a PM with some interesting 411.

    Not seeing protections?

I'll tell you why I'm a little miffed... I can't believe that nobody here has ever tried to copy this DVD before. Maybe the userbase isn't as broad and far-reaching as I imagined? This was the first company that had a product to do what I wanted and I never researched it much further...

    Not seeing protections?

:) Agreed. I understand. I appreciate the help. :) I think the guy in Dec may have just given up. I'd be interested in knowing if he ever got it resolved. I just ran into this thread searching for a solution in leiu of posting a new thread so here we are. My bet is he just gave up and...

    Not seeing protections?

If there's any CSS on this disc, AnyDVD can't see it (at least in the interface, maybe the logs say different). It basically says this disc was (is like) a homemade video out of Nero composed and created by me from clips. It sees squat.

    Not seeing protections?

Went and borrowed the exact same disc from a friend. Eactly the same result (I broke the shrink on mine personally from Walmart). Tried two other machines. Totally different hardware and OS (1 other Vista and an XP Pro) platforms. Same thing. It's the disc. Gotta be.

    Not seeing protections?

Maybe? Dunno. I've copied literally 100s of DVDs with this machine (not exagerrating) and I have never had a problem except with this ONE DVD. This is THE first one that's EVER caused me problems. I've copied two others today (after this problem) just to see and not one issue. One was Disney...

    Not seeing protections?

Don't know if it did this time (I have no way of knowing if this is a CSS protected disc unless AnyDVD tells me so and it doesn't) but I've never seen a Disney original that didn't have CSS. All I know for sure is that this particular disc fails to yield finding anything; just as the original...

    Not seeing protections?

That IS the error message. It's just a dialog box that just says that. Nothing else. The dump above (zip I posted) stands as viable. The DVD is a Disney "Special Edition" (in my 3YO's hands, that's why I want a backup) Beauty and the Beast.

Just tried two others. They detect CSS and work fine. It's something about this disk.

    Not seeing protections?

The ASPI driver was there. Removed. There was also some sort of gearaspi driver. Removed. No telling what I broke because I'm certaint hey've been there forever and I use AnyDVD all the time but I digress... Same result with CloneDVD. Ripping straight from AnyDVD yields a fail with "PS12"...

    Not seeing protections?

Using the latest beta of AnyDVD and the latest CloneDVD. Same results. Basically, AnyDVD sees no protection on the DVD at all apparently. Any ideas?
