The hddvd hack works just fine. You just have to comment out that one line, as posted earlier in this thread. And you have to have powerdvd 7.3 installed. Perhaps the problem is that some of you never had powerdvd 7.3. Is that it? So you'd now have to buy it? :confused:

That's the hddvd hack. You can find the same info here in the hddvd/powerdvd8 thread. And if you want it to work with 1730b, then follow the instructions that we've been talking about (the one's posted by James and SamuriHL in the first pages of this thread).

I only saw the info posted in the first few pages of this thread. What is this "online version" you are referring to? I am only aware of 1 hddvd hack. It requires the files from the pdvd 8 beta. Right?

Yes, that would indeed solve my problem. Though removing the cable ground's existence from my audio system works even better (and is cheaper). ;)

You can remux the movie/iso. Then setup your pc to be a video server on your network for your PS3. Then you can stream the movie - but you will only have 2 channel audio I think - or perhaps it is dolby 5.1, I forget. But for some reason I'm thinking you can only do 2 channel audio. There is...

I'd stick with the analog out - definately better sound. I always have a ground or floating ground issue when using a pc for audio. The culprit for me is always the cable line. If I have an electrical connection between any device that is plugged into the cable and the receiver or anything...

Which filter needs to be replaced? I backed up my original pdvd8 program folder, so at least I know I'll have the file. I'm not sure how to determine if HA is working or not, other than monitoring CPU usage. Or, just waiting - with a stock 2.66GHz E6700, you'll get skipping after about 30-60...
