Depends what version of anydvd you are using and what you are using to rup and burn. Also the blank media you are using is probably junk as well what media are you using?

Provided you used Anydvd 6.9.0.3 and Anydvd ripper (or Clonedvd), then . . .

from Frequently Asked Questions (READ BEFORE YOU POST)

9. Why are my backups freezing, skipping, or showing a blocky pixellated mess during playback?

1. Update your burner's firmware (if available)
http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=12794&postcount=10

2. Use good quality media (Memorex, Ritek, Princo, Fuji, TDK from Costco, and Maxell that are not made in Japan are not good quality media). Are you using inferior blank media? If you're not using Taiyo Yuden (not Valueline), Verbatim, Maxell Plus, or Maxell Broadcast Quality, then chances are the answer is yes.
If you use poor quality blank media, then you should expect problems.

3. Try lowering your burn speed a little (if you have a 16x burner and 16x rated media try writing to it at 12x or 8x instead of 16x)

4. If you're using +R, +RW, or +R DL media, change the booktype to "dvd-rom"
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 (step 3)

5. Avoid sticker labels (they tend to cause problems)

6. Try setting a custom size of 4300 in whatever burning program you're using (but if you're using good media, you shouldn't have to) if you're using regular single layer dvd-5 (4.7GB) discs.

7. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. Select the tab labeled "scandisc". Insert the problematic backup disc, select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your backup is bad (which is the most likely case), your optical drive may be slowly dying, or your optical drive simply doesn't like the disc (or your choice of blank media)--even if the disc looks fine.

Bad burn quality is notorious around the end of discs (see step 6)
and also at layer breaks when using low quality DL media (use Verbatim +R DL media made in Singapore or MAM-A 8x +R DL, and change the booktype to "dvd-rom")

version is 6.3.0.9, Dvd Shrink and Clonedvd2, blank media is hp invent dvd +r 16x 4.7 gb

@ purp1es10,

Perchance have you reviewed posting #3? Have you noted comments #9 and #1 and #2 in posting #3?

Have you performed the steps as outlined in posting #3 comments #7? If so what were the results of the Nero CD DVD Speed ScanDisc surface scan?

Reguards,

Skipping playback on backups is almost always due to bad media or a bad burn.

I recently purchased some Verbatim DVD+R DL media and this blank media was tagged with supporting 8X burn speed.

Since I usually have my burning software set to "Max," it burned at 8X. However, I discovered every copy skipped at around 30 or so minutes into the main title. I wasted over a dozen discs.

In troubleshooting, I discovered the problem went away when I burned at 4X. So my writer (Liteon 20A1H) definitely has issues burning at 8X on DVD+R DL media, even if the media is flagged as supporting 8X burn speed.

Basically, for your issue, the problem boils down to:

1) What brand and type of blank media are you using? (I suggest running DVD Identifier and post the results to find out definitively.)

2) How fast are you burning?

different brands = different speeds?

i had hp blank discs with 16x speed and it took around 15 minutes to burn a movie, now i just bought some memorex 16x speed and it's taking 30+ minutes to make a backup of a movie, is this normal?

Memorex is junk. HP varies too much in quality. Again, use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (not Valueline). Maxell Broadcast Quality is hideously expensive (so that may not be a viable option). Maxell Plus is sometimes made by Taiyo Yuden. Note that I'm not talking about regular Maxell junk blank media that you find in most stores.

2. Try lowering your burn speed a little (if you have a 16x burner and 16x rated media try writing to it at 12x or 8x instead of 16x)

Not really. Just don't use cheap media. Listen to the advice told in this thread and you will be better off.
