Hi. I have used clonedvd for about a year. I eventually decided it was time to wipe out my computer and start over from all the installed/uninstalled programs. I put windows, virus scanners and any & clonedvd on my system. I tried it for the first time yesterday. Anydvd appeared to do its job, and clonedvd would read the original, but when I insert the blank DVD, my system is rebooted exactly as if I'd hit the reset button as soon as it starts to write. I disable my firewall and virus protection before burning and have nothing running in the background. When the system reboots, there is an error message asking if I want to report the details of the error to microsoft. I don't know if it makes any difference or not, but the movie I was trying to backup was "reign over me"

@ headcic,

Welcome to the Forum.

The problem you are describing can be caused by a driver conflict problem.
Suggest fully insuring that ALL hardware deceives have the newest most current drivers available installed.

If after installing current up to date hardware deceive drivers you continue to experience the same problem proceed as detailed below ->

a)Click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
b) Navigate to "Program Settings".
c) Click "enable logging".
d) Click "ok".
e) Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader.
f) Go to your My Documents folder
g) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip"
h) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like a small paperclip
i) if you don't see that icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
j) a small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
k) click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
l) click "upload"

Regards,
Coaster

Additional note

I watched this happen again and noticed that there is a blue "fatal exception" screen flashing too quick for me to read as soon as the write process begins, and the computer reboots as if the reset button has been hit. I updated the driver on my dvd writer (which is a sony dru-820a). I wonder what else can be done? I need to get my program working again.

I think you may have misunderstood. The problem is not happening in anydvd... The problem is happening in the clonedvd when the blank disc is inserted and begans to be written. As soon as the writing process begins, it reboots.

I think you may have misunderstood.

No. He didn't. Please follow the instructions he posted.

Actually, please do the following (follow the steps in the order they are listed):

1. Use Anydvd 6.3.0.8 beta: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=80022&postcount=1
You may need to reboot after installing if prompted to do so.

2. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Click "default". Click "ok".
Also please ensure the A.I. scanner is set to default (click red fox icon-->navigate to "video dvd"-->"settings"-->"Automatic (default)")
And please ensure that logging is disabled under "Program Settings" (this step is very important).

3. Use the latest Clonedvd: click http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVD.exe

4. Follow the steps from this link in order: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476
