I just started ripping 4k UHD discs. One thing I notice since most come w/ moviesanywhere codes is that the same movie on disc is only HDR but on iTunes it is DolbyVision. So does that mean the disc is not as good quality? That seems pretty stupid if you get better on iTunes which as far as I know you can't currently rip unless anystream adds that in the future.

DolbyVision is an extension to UHD HDR standard. It doesn't mean the basic "HDR" isn't good quality. It'll be just as good. You just need DV supporting hardware to take advantage of the DV extras.

So DolbyVision doesn't mean it's better quality? I assumed it was since it's Dolby. I have the LG OLED 2020 model, AppleTV4k, the Panosonic DP-UB9000 player. Some movies on disc will be DolbyVision. Others like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" and "Deepwater Horizon" (both US releases) are only HDR on disc but DolbyVision on AppleTV4k. I have the supporting hardware for both. I haven't actually sat there for hours and compared scenes but assumed DolbyVision is going to be better compared to HDR? I feel a bit cheated that I buy the discs but I can only stream the best quality. That was my first reaction.
