This version should support the "new UK DVD protection" (found on some newer UK DVD releases).
There might be some regression issues with older titles, please report any problems.

I used 8.0.9.6 to rip Hacksaw Ridge. It shows a playlist in the disc info file. Handbrake selects the wrong playlist by default. Does that mean the fix for this disc is not complete, or will this be as good as it gets for this disc?

Neither. That means you need to tell HANDBRAKE to use the one anydvd specifies. That's a handbrake issue, not an anydvd one. Handbrake uses its own title numbers (with the mpls number next to it for recent versions)
