this question doesn't really have a lot to do with my backing up my movies; however i have 201 movies saved as iso files on my C drive. That being said, windows 8 has an option in the control panel under recovery options. It states that you can refresh your pc without losing your files. I understand I will have to reinstall my anydvd and clone dvd. but my question is: Does anyone know whether or not I will lose those 201 movies I have saved on this disc? any help will be greatly appreciated.

well you say it states that you can reset without losing your files, so you basically answered yourself there. However that question is probably better asked on a windows support forum than here, as more specialised people will be located there than there are here.

refresh

Well, yes I probably answered my own question, but I was hoping to get some feed-back from someone more knowledgable than I. However, your absolutely right, that I should probably be looking at Microsofts website. Thank you for your Quick Response.

Glad i could "help", there's never any harm in asking ;). If you do however get a more definite answer, you could post it back here to so other users that may have the same question in the future could get the answer they seek as well :) but that's up to you.

If your hard drive is big enough, after you install windows, immediately partition it. Then put your 201 files on the second partition, of course you would have had to follow fast eddies advice before installing windows. Then if you ever want to reinstall windows, the windows partition is cleared in the process, but the second partition is never changed. Of course back up still, as if the hard drive ever has a catastrophic failure, then everything could be lost.

refresh windows 8.1

ok, boys and girls, heres what I did. I finally got frustrated last night, and moved 75% of my movies to an external drive and "refreshed" my Pc. Here's what transpired. I lost none of the movies, pics, etc. only lost external programs that i had to reinstall. ie; anydvd & clone dvd. paintshop pro ultimate x6, printer software, setpoint and so on. So, if anyone out there might have this problem with corrupted files in windows 8.1, refreshing is the way to go without having to start all over again. However, it will not get you back to 8.1. It will take you back to windows 8 and you can redownload 8.1 (free) later. thanks for any help and insite you guys have given me.

Try the microsoft forums or specialised windows forums. Windows isnt a slysoft product ^^

Hello i have found a problem with my windows. May be it crashed. But i need my windows will be update automatically. But i do not know how can do it. Anyone please suggest me..

As the MODs says this isn't a Windows support forum...there are plenty of dedicated Windows 7 support forum with more advanced users that can be more of assistance with your problem. But from my understanding if your Auto Windows Update isn't working....this means you got a VIRUS/MALWARE infections or using cracked Windows....
