Movie Only Copies: eac3to, tsMuxer & ImgBurn Made Easy

You can use "Unconverted" to keep the HD audio. For DTS-HD, this is fine as the DTS core will be passed to the receiver. For your TrueHD files, the same doesn't happy (chinese code in the PCH firmware) - at the moment, you'll need to mux the TrueHD file and AC3 core seperately. The next version of ClownBD will have an easier way to do this. For the moment I'm converting all TrueHD audio to DTS 1536kb/s (you'll need Surcode installed).

Cheers,

-jj-

Thanks for your answer. In summary:
1)I use clownBD first with unconverted.
2) Again clownBD in case of TrueHD audio track to get TrueHD and AC3 core separately.
3) Use surcode to convert TrueHD to DTS 1536kb/s
4) Use another program to mux video and audio DTS converted?

Hmm... at the moment, ClownBD won't work to do option 2. If you see my post to mrrrrrrrrrrrr above, it will do soon, I'm sure ;-)

Option two is definately the way to go for TrueHD. As mentioned I'm doing option three at the moment, so also looking forward to this being added to ClownBD (the new 0.65 NMT options will also make the wiki at the NMT forum easier to understand). You do need a fully working copy of Surcode installed for DTS conversion though.

For DTS-HD, you can just remux to .TS "unconverted", the PCH will bitstream the standard DTS core if you have the DTS (raw) option specified in the audio options for the player.

I'm suggesting to keep the HD audio as you're then "future proof" if you update your receiver.

Yes, the latest build doesn't work at all :-(

Hi Mrrrrrrrrr, just wanted to highlight the small issue with the "unconverted" textbox spacing on the new options, in case you weren't aware of that.

Will shortly give some results on the DTS-HD and DTS conversion also.

It may be worth to add some numbskull protection to remove the -core switch if a standard DTS track should be selected (like in the screenshot) where actually they should be using the "unconverted" option, not the "dts" option. Doesn't matter for me but ... ;-)

Cheers,

-jj-

ok, i'll look into this. also the extra WAV when it's not needed.

the DTS and DTS core is how it should be. Thats how the user requested it.

Yeah it's making total sense to use -core on a DTS-HD track, but I think on a standard one you'll bork EAC3TO. Like mentioned, it's not an issue for me anyway :)

Thanks as usual for your time!

Cheers,

-jj-

probably, but the user should have some idea about what he's doing. there is another issue, which I've not bothered fixing - like if you select no streams at all. I've not even tried testing, but I'm sure if eac3to or tsMuxeR let it through then there will be no image or sound. :D

I've uploaded v65b again with those fixes, and another I found converning DTS->AC3

Please take a look.

.

Latest version seems to forget to add the selected video stream to EAC3TO options (audio and subs fine):

Code:
REM *** Call eac3to 3rd Pass ***
"D:\utils\encoding\eac3to\eac3to.exe" "C:\michael\watchmen director's cut" 2) 4: "d:\temp mux\watchmen director_s cut\Audio_4_English.DTS" 4: "d:\temp mux\watchmen director_s cut\Audio_4_English_CORE.DTS" -CORE 7: "d:\temp mux\watchmen director_s cut\Subtitles_7_English.sup" 11: "d:\temp mux\watchmen director_s cut\Subtitles_11_English.sup" -LOG="d:\temp mux\watchmen director_s cut\eac3to_PASS3_LOG.LOG"

Cheers,

-jj-

it seems v65b never did chapters or video. it does now...

Can this program be used to compress everything from say a BD 50 to a BD 25? As apposed to just taking the main video?

New version seems to work fine!

One thing I saw is that using the ARCSOFT decoder (standard for doing any re-encoding with DTS-HD tracks) seems to only allow one conversion. The extra not needed .WAV file uses this instance (so had to add -libav into the options manually to get round that).

Cheers,

-jj-

Julien, you should post the log files ClownBD created...

Cheers,

-jj-

I'll rip again tonight and post the log (or does Clown keep a record of all rip logs?). So the M2TS files are capable of and should have contained the DTS-MA bitstream audio track?
