Hey there! My Apple TV box shipped today.

Are you guys at SlySoft working on H.264 MP4 support, up to 720p in resolution?

Current Apple iPod support tops out at sub-480p.

Thanks!

CloneDVD mobile does not support H.264 MP4 for iPod *at all*.
Only MPEG4 video is supported for iPod.

The guys at SlySoft are not telling us anything, which pisses me off.
They've created this forum and I wish they would, at least, let us know something. Anything!
I can take a "no", but I can't take silence.

I'm looking forward to receiving my AppleTV as well and I would like to add my voice to the call for increased settings availability.

Please help us :doh:

I'v created an Apple TV AVC profile for 480P or 720P resolution at up to 5mbps bitrate (max capabilities on ATV). It is working quite well and produces very good quality results on my 42" Samsung DLP. Just add this profile to your Devices.ini file:

Code:
[Apple TV H264 AVC]
Manufacturer=Apple
useMencoder=1
SubTitle=1
Volume=800
Res1=640x480
Res2=960x720
ResAna1=720x408
ResAna2=856x480
ResAna3=1280x720
VCodec=h264
ACodec=aac
ARate=48000
ABRate=160
Format=lavf
lavfopts=format=mp4
lavcopts=aglobal=1:vglobal=1:vcodec=h264:coder=1:acodec=aac
FileType=mp4
Quality=100
iPodFix=0
MaxVBitrate=5000

NOTE:H264 encoding will take 3-4 times as long as mp4, but will produce far superior results. Upconverting to 720P will take even longer and doesn't produce any better quality. ATV will upconvert the output to your TV anyways. A good compromise is to only select 640x480 for 4:3 or 720x408 for 16:9 and reduce the Quality Scale to about 25-35 (2-3mbps bitrate). It will still produce a far better picture than mp4 and won't take quite as long or take up as much HDD space as the Max AVC settings. As for me, I'll stick with best quality.

EDIT:iPod AVC Profile I posted is not working correctly, sorry. Will update soon.

Hope this helps until we get real support from SlySoft...
