I'm trying to make a better appletv setting in the devices.ini

It seems to me that since most DVD have 720x480 video... there should be a 720x480 output option. Especially since AppleTV will be displayed on a TV.

What I want to do is convert some music video DVDs to h.264 files that are playable on AppleTV and iTunes. The resolution of the DVDs is 720X480. I do not want to loose any of that resolution. I want the highest quality possible. File size does not matter. I'm thinking I will make mp4 files that are around 3500kbps.

The current settings available in CloneDVD Mobile for AppleTV are: 640x480 and 960x720. It seems like the best option would be 720x480 since that is the resolution of the DVD (source).

When I look in the devices.ini file I see:
Res1=640x480
Res2=960x720
ResAna1=720x408
ResAna2=856x480
ResAna3=1280x720

In the GUI, I see the options for 640x480 and 960x720. I do not see the "ResAna" options. What's up with that?

What is the difference between "Res" and "ResAna"?

How do I get a matching output (720x480) for my source (720x480)?
Do I just change the devices.ini to this?:
Res1=640x480
Res2=960x720
Res3=720x480
ResAna1=720x408
ResAna2=856x480
ResAna3=720x480
ResAna4=1280x720

there's no reason why you cant try that.
copy and paste the devices.ini file to your desktop first before altering it.
if what you did doesn't work,copy and paste it back from the desktop copy which will overwrite the changes you made (NB to close the program first).

Thanks, that seems to work really well.

Also, this AppleTV preset says "Quality=30" in the devices.ini
Is "30" the highest quality available?

Is there a guide so I can see all my options? I don't want to clutter the forum asking about each individual setting.

Thanks!

i don't know.
try increasing the quality value.
it'll either work and you'll see an improvement or it wont work in which case revert back to the original ;)
