Using AnyDVD 6.3.1.7
CloneDVD2 2.9.1.5

Tried CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD ripper. Gets to the same point (VTSS_12_3.vob) and gives a cyclic redundancy check data error. DVD is brand new. Region 1, UPC 8693671606

File 1 G:/VIDEO_TS/VTS_12_3.VOB 23 TCSectorReader

Attached is AnyDVD logfile.

Thanks,
Walris

Follow the steps in the order they are listed:

Afc (system32\drivers\Afc.sys), Version: 1.0.0.2 (1.0.0.2)
Company: Arcsoft, Inc.
Product: Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell
Copyright: (C) Arcsoft, Inc. 1999-2005. All rights reserved.
Description: Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell
FileVersion: 1, 0, 0, 2
ProductVersion: 1, 0, 0, 2

This Arcsoft filter is known to cause conflicts with Slysoft software. Arcsoft Photo impressions (or anything that installs afc.sys)

1.
i) Create a backup of your registry
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)
iii) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "dvd43llh". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "AFC". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

2. Update to Anydvd 6.3.1.8 beta: click http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6318.exe

3. Click the red fox icon on your desktop. Click "default". Click "ok".

4. Try cleaning your disc. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

AnyDVD 6.3.1.8 Beta and CloneDVD 2.9.1.5 ripped the entire disc in DVD9 dual layer (no compression) without issue.

region 1...'enchanted'...originally tried ripping to harddrive with anydvd 6318...then dvd shrink no go....forgot what the orignal error said...then tried anydvd 6318 and clone dvd 2915, with compression....perfect copy of my disc...no issues whatsoever...

Can't burn anymore either

Well, it seems to have finally gotten to me. Now I am getting read errors no matter what I am trying to back up. Someone please help and let me know what needs to go.

Thanks, Walris

click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=87585&postcount=4 and read fully. Do not post in other people's troubleshooting threads unless you wish to assist them please.

You either have bad original discs or your drive is failing.

Sorry for the post in the wrong place. So the drivers that I have are OK? I actually have 2 drives and both are erroring out at the same place on each disc, but the sector where the error occurs varies by disc.

This is no fun after years of no problems.

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything interesting. Bad original discs are no longer uncommon, unfortunately.

1)That said, you may want to try Clonedvd 2.9.1.6 beta: click http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupCloneDVD2916.exe

2)Download Nero cd-dvd speed.

OK then the drive is dieing. I ripped this title with no issues.

walris is having the same problem with multiple discs.

Perhaps he is having problems with a few discs. If so that really wouldn't rule out the issue being bad original discs.

If he is having problems with all discs, then there could be an issue with a bad busmaster controller on the motherboard, a corrupt driver, etc.
