I just downloaded Anydvd to copy commercial dvds I own for back ups. So far all that happens is the DVD burner whirrs for a few seconds and then I see a screen that shows me all that Anydvd can do... never see a screen that says make a copy/file/ right now this is useless to me. Have used DVDshrink in the past but newer movies have outdated that program. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

AnyDVD is a decrypter not a copier. You'll need CloneDVD2 ( 21 day free trial ) to make a copy of the said DVD.

OK, I put the DVD in my buirner and go to ANYDVD. As I said, I've done this, it whirrs, but it doesn't create a file anywhere in my c drive. I go to Nero and try to copy from it and it stops because of encryption and there's no decrypted file to pull up from the c drive. How do you make the two programs work together?

1. Use Anydvd 6.3.1.8 beta: click http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6318.exe

You may need to reboot after installing if prompted to do so.

2. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Click "default". Click "ok".

3. If you use DVDShrink, Nero Recode, or programs that generally can't handle structural protections, right-click on the fox icon on your toolbar and select "Rip video-dvd to Hard Disk". Choose your source and destination paths. Click "Copy", and wait for Anydvd ripper to finish. You can then import that rip into whatever program you want. This is an important step if the original disc contains structural protection.

You don't need to do this if you own Clonedvd or are planning to make a backup with Clonecd.

4. Use the latest Clonedvd: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=84511&postcount=1

5. Follow the steps from this link in order: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 (follow them step by step)

If you're using +R DL blank discs, I recommend using Clonecd: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=327

6. If you still have problems, then . . .

A)
a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put the problematic original movie dvd in your burner. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
d) Select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file.
f) A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder
h) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f)
i) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif
(in other words, look for the paperclip after clicking "quote" or when creating a new thread)
j) If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
k) A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
l) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
m) click "upload"
n) Close the window. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the .zip file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at

B) State the full a)error message(s) you encountered (click "details"), b)tell us what program(s) you were using when you received the error message(s), and c) describe in detail what you were doing when you received the error message(s). What problem are you having exactly?

C) Click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=5091 to see if your question has already been answered

effbee that is why I suggested clonedvd2 as it is easier to use.

OK, went to sand box and it would seem that I did not get a full download the first time. opened the program and this time clicked on default and then ok. Got a new window that allowed me to select Rip Video, established file in my documents to store the film, set up target and source, and it began to copy, then got error message: AnyDVD Ripper (Blue Label on error message box) File IO VTS-01-1.VOB95543296 57344... What now? I'm not ordering the software until I see proof that it will work. Just lost a good part of three days screwing around with stuff from another source that won't do what I want to do, so your help is greatly appreciated. Oh and add to Webslinger, I didn't make a second thread on the same topic did I. I thought I hit reply and not new thread.

Surely a number appears after File IO? "3" perhaps?

No. But I'm not sure why you are raising this point.

OK, I have somnething that looks like a video file stored in the location I selected. will now try and open it in Nero and burn. I believe I attached the log file, which I found in a seperate file created by the software.

No. You do need to rip first with Anydvd ripper. And you haven't done so successfully yet.

I also do need a full error message.

Changed firstplay: Jump directly to Title 1!

Just so you know, Remove Annoying adverts and trailers does not work properly with all discs, and may make some unplayable. I don't believe this feature is affecting you at the moment, but I'm just letting you know.

Click the red fox icon on your desktop. Click the "default" button. Click "ok".

Incd (and packet writing software in general) is bad news. Nero's Incd is packet writing software, which interferes with a lot of programs including Slysoft's. If you want drag-and-drop functionality, use dvd-ram instead (with a FAT file format), which is more stable.

Uninstall Nero's Incd. Check to ensure those two entries I quoted no longer appear in your filters after rebooting. It's very important that those two filters are longer listed in your registry. You don't need to remove all of Nero, just Incd.

If you can't figure out how to remove the filters, do this:

i) Create a backup of your registry
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)
iii) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "InCDPass". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "incdrm". Click "Remove Selected Filter" Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

Keep in mind Incd will no longer function properly.

3. I need a full error message. I asked you earlier if a "3" appears after FileIO. You haven't responded.

You are responding to my signature, which is posted automatically in all of my replies.

OK, I went ahead and downloaded clone too. Then went to the file and tried to burn. clone said,"unable to read vic files from c/doc...AnyDVD/Amazinggrace... etc.

So now I have both programs on board, let's try this from the gitgo.

I don't mind helping you. But if you don't provide us with full (and I mean full) error messages and follow instructions (remove those incd filters), troubleshooting is going to be pointless.

OK, now nopthing happens when I hit the red fox icon. Grrrrrrr.

here it is exactly as I read it off the screen "FileIOVTS_01_1.VOB95543296 57344"

Well . . .

O.k., Do this:

1. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Click the "default" button. Click "ok".

3. Use the latest Clonedvd: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...11&postcount=1

4. Follow the steps from this link in order: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 (follow them step by step)

If you get an error message from Clonedvd, click the "Details" button and provide the full error message.

FileIO without a number after it is a bit confusing.

FileIO 3 is a read error
FilieIO 4 means a drive can't be written to

I don't believe that's possible since a number always appears after FileIO and before VTS

OK... can I get back to that message? How? trust me, I'm not trying to be devious, but this has been a bitch to work with (the program, not you)
