With the format now dead and the manufacture of drives shut down, will support for HD-DVD be dropped from AnyDVD HD?

For the time being HD-DVDs are still being produced and likely will into 2009.
I'm afraid this is highly unlikely (i.e. the 2009 part) now that Paramount/Dreamworks had cancelled their HD DVD releases after March 4. This leaves Universal still not yet officially announce when they will stop releasing HD DVD.
I don't agree with your statements from what I've read. Dreamworks will be releasing HD-DVD for the time being and they did have an agreement going into 2009. HD-DVD is a finalized spec. There is little if any extra effort that Slysoft would have to put into continuing support. So, again I say, I don't see Slysoft dropping support for HD-DVD.
I thought they were HD DVD exclusive now.
I doubt that, 'cause this would be very stupid, as all customers already owning HD DVDs (I believe this still is the majority, thanks to the XBOX360 drive) won't be upgrading = less money for Cyberlink.Take this as RUMOR ONLY until it gets confirmed, but, Cyberlink has pulled HD DVD support from their authoring software and someone in their forum suggests they'll be doing so for PowerDVD 8, as well.
Simple answer: No.With the format now dead and the manufacture of drives shut down, will support for HD-DVD be dropped from AnyDVD HD?

Dropping HD DVD support from authoring software OTOH is quite understandable.

Wal-Mart. Best Buy. NetFlix. Warner Brothers movie studio. The latest round of worldwide retailers' and major Hollywood movie studio's decision to withdraw support for the HD DVD format spelled the end for Toshiba's next-gen format, making the high-definition Blu-ray format as the clear winner.
As CyberLink product owners, you probably had no qualms because of our dual HD formats playback, editing and backup support. Keep in mind that CyberLink will continue with HD DVD support for all CyberLink software, but the adoption of Blu-ray will sure to be even faster!
