I've been using CloneDVD2 2.9.1.2 program on my Win XP SP2 PC for a while with no problems, but from about two weeks ago, it just stop working... The program will launch, but it will not copy DVD title, clone DVD, or Write Existing data. It does not detect the DVD at all.

I got the DVD drive replaced with a new drive and upgrade to CloneDVD2 2.9.1.5. AnyDVD 6.3.1.5 is also installed, and I still have the same problem.

After reinstalling my OS, I reinstall AnyDVD and CloneDVD2, and I got the same problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thank You

It does not detect the DVD at all.

I need you to be a lot more specific. What doesn't detect what kind of dvd? A blank dvd? A movie dvd? What's the full error message?

1 a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put the problematic original movie disc in your burner. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
d) Select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file.
f) A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder
h) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f)
i) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif

j) If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
k) A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
l) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
m) click "upload"

2) State the full a)error message(s) you encountered (click "details"), b)tell us what program(s) you were using when you received the error message(s), and c) describe in detail what you were doing when you received the error message(s). What problem are you having exactly?

I found out that there is a firmware available for the DVD drive which I applied and now the CloneDVD2 is able to read the media. However, I am still having a problem where the CloneDVD will get to certain percentage in the reading and writing process and then give an error. This happens with multiple DVDs.

When I put the DVD in the drive, AnyDVD did not automatically scan it although AutoStart and Enabled AnyDVD are on.

DVD quality check required

First, let's try this with a retail movie DVD. The one you are using looks like a home-made DVD or is a not-protected universally usable disc. There is nothing for AnyDVD to do with that.;)

The image showing the options Windows is offering you is Windows' best guess since the DVD is defective - the Cyclic Redundancy Check message is trying to tell you that the data is not readable. :(

Now that you have solved the firmware issue (good job there ) let's get a retail movie you personally own and want to back up into the drive and go from there.

I tried two DVDs. The first one is my Rosetta Stone Spanish level 1. AnyDVD wasn't able copy it. I tried a retail movie - Jessie James. That worked. Do you know why I can't make a backup copy of my Rosetta Stone?
Thank you for you help.
