There's been a lot of discussion on this forum about using ImgBurn to create ISOs. This is necessary for anyone that wants to move beyond PDVD version 3319a. Many are staying on 3319a and staying with directories, but for anyone that uses MyMovies in MCE, the integratrion with PDVD and directory launch is being discontinued (2.43 PR3).

To date, the guidance has been to use ImgBurn in read mode to create ISOs using the disc with AnyDVD running. Build mode wouldn't work because it couldn't build UDF 2.5 images. This means you couldn't build playable ISOs from directories.

Lightning UK recently release version 2.4.0.0 of ImgBurn. It supports build mode for UDF 2.5. This evening I successfully built ISO's for HD King Kong and BD Spider-Man 3 from directories. Both run fine in PDVD 3730.

Using build mode with directories should save quite a bit of time for those with large HD collections. It seems to be much faster than having to go back to the original disc and starting over.

Cool, thanks for the heads up.

or just use Nero to make a 2.5 UDF ISO from folder

Nice to see an update.
If anyone is interested in writing their own media iso launcher like me, use a programing language called Autoit which is free.

i might even sell mine one day.

anyways thanks for the update.

I have no luck with build mode in 2.4.0.0
It's still the same 50/50 with BD's as before, UDF 2.5 or 1.02 don't matter with powerdvd, must be deamon tools that don't mount it as BD only DVD

HD-DVD have always worked 100% with old version and new version

With BD and Nero 8 in UDF 2.5 mode only black picture on the troublesome BD's

That's too bad. It has worked every time for me. I just finished using ImgBurn 2.4.0.0 successfully on 11 BD titles. I've had zero problems.

I'm using
* ImgBurn 2.4.0.0 UDF 2.5. Bumped single layer to number > 50gb
* Daemon Tools Lite v4.12.0 (SPTD 1.55)
* PDVD v3730

Works like a champ. What BDs where you having trouble with?

I've tried 3:10 to Yuma and Across the Universe. No success on both.
I use the same Software-Setup as you. Which settings do you use exactly in ImbBurn?

*Mode is Build, Sources are BDMV and CERTIFICATE dirs,
*Options tab UDF 2.50, Recurse Subdirs
*Labels, I'm always entering a label
*Volume IDs, I pasting in the 32 byte Vol ID, pulling it from MyMovies, ( I was hoping this would help the ID the mounted ISO, but it doesn't seem to work. Booktype is wrong or something...
* Advanced.Media.Single Layer Profile is Custom, Max Sectors is 99999999
* Everything else appears to be cleared or the defaults.

I don't have "Across the Universe" and I haven't tried this route with "310 to Yuma". I went straight to ISO with 310. I'll try it in the next couple days, going to directory and back and back to ISO.

Build one with the same settings as you, PDVD still won't play the fricking Yuma ISO. :bang::bang::bang:

My problem exactly... (have the same settings)
Seems version 3730 has problem with that release, am going to try 3704 and see if it works.

Thankfully I keep a copy af all releases on my harddrive...

Didn´t see you where talking about 3:10, thought it was across the universe.. :)

Actually, reading the various posts in the is forum, I don't think anyone has managed to get 3:10 to Yuma working in any version of PDVD (ISO or Dirs). The method is to TSRemux it. Someone correct me if there is some other way to make this title work with PDVD right now.

Wrong, last patch of PDVD has fixed the menus issue with 3:10, the iso now works perfectly. I have created iso's of both 3:10 and Across The Universe (ATU). ATU menus are not functional, I have seen elsewhere that if you revert to previous PDVD version, that ATU works, haven't tried it... I will TSRemux ATU tonight to see if it works without the menus, suspect it's a BD Java issue with latest PDVD patch...

I suspect you are using "read" mode in imgburn then ? , strange that build mode with udf 2.5 don't work with so many BD titles, almost all Sony titles work for me but many don't in build mode

I have used both "read" mode directly to iso, and "build" mode with folders ripped by AnyDVD, both methods work well, and yes with udf 2.5. I have yet to run into a title that would not work (I have a mix of HD-DVD and BD ~35 from various studios).

Mission Impossible 3? That title is a nightmare for me. Playing from disc works fine if AnyDVD isn't running but the disc won't play if AnyDVD is running. For that reason all rips to HDD then to iso, or directly to iso with imgburn in read mode, don't run either. I've tried disabling the rename option and all the tricks in AnyDVD. Nothing seems to work. So far MI3 is the only title I've had trouble with. As far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with ImgBurn. It seems to be some strange interaction between the latest AnyDVD and PDVD.

I stand corrected wrt to 310 to Yuma. I hadn't bothered to try the ISO again. I Just tried ImgBurn in read mode creating from disc. I also tried it in build mode from a rip to HDD. Both worked fine with the latest PDVD patch.

Yes, I have an iso of MI3, works perfectly with 3730, I usually use ImgBurn "read" mode right to iso, no tricks or special settings... I have not experienced any conflicts between PDVD and AnyDVD.

Are you guys using Vista with imgburn, mybe becouse i use XP with it I have problem ?

I'm running XP with imgburn, daemon lite, anyDVD HD, and PDVD 3730, I also have the LG combo drive (both HD-DVD & Blue-ray), all works fine for creating and playing back iso's.

The only problem I (as well as others) have faced is with BD+ and now with some BD discs that have Java enabled menus (such as 3:10 to Yuma and Across The Universe). You can get around this issue by using TsRemux to remove the menus, create an iso and you can also play these titles. With a brand new disc you should not have any problems creating and playing back iso's.

I am new to this.
So if I have a disk like 3:10 to Yuma and I create the ISO from the disk, will it play with 3730 or will I still need to tuse the TsRemux thingy?
