Hi, could someone help me? I have problem with ripping Wrong Turn...in 95% any dvd shows error: file IO 3...

1. File IO3 typically means you have a bad original disc that needs to be exchanged (even if it plays fine), unless your drive is slowly dying.
from Frequently Asked Questions (READ BEFORE YOU POST)
Why am I getting FileIO 3, CRC, TCSectorReader, or read errors in general when the program I use tries to read a disc? (click the text to find out)

2. You provided the .zip file for your backup. Provide the .zip file with the original disc. But first, update to Anydvd 6.3.1.4 beta: click http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6314.exe

3. Why are my backups freezing, skipping, or showing a blocky pixellated mess during playback? (click the text to find out)

A. Update your burner's firmware (if available)
http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=12794&postcount=10

B. Use good quality media (Memorex, Ritek, Princo, Fuji, TDK from Costco, and Maxell that are not made in Japan are not good quality media). Are you using inferior blank media? If you're not using Taiyo Yuden (not Valueline), Verbatim, Maxell Plus, or Maxell Broadcast Quality, then chances are the answer is yes.
If you use poor quality blank media, then you should expect problems.

C. Try lowering your burn speed a little (if you have a 16x burner and 16x rated media try writing to it at 12x or 8x instead of 16x)

D. If you're using +R, +RW, or +R DL media, change the booktype to "dvd-rom"
http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 (step 3)

E. Avoid sticker labels (they tend to cause problems)

F. Try setting a custom size of 4300 in whatever burning program you're using (but if you're using good media, you shouldn't have to) if you're using regular single layer dvd-5 (4.7GB) discs.

G. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. Select the tab labeled "scandisc". Insert the problematic backup disc, select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your backup is bad (which is the most likely case), your optical drive may be slowly dying, or your optical drive simply doesn't like the disc (or your choice of blank media)--even if the disc looks fine.

Bad burn quality is notorious around the end of discs (see step 6)
and also at layer breaks when using low quality DL media (use Verbatim +R DL media made in Singapore or MAM-A 8x +R DL, and change the booktype to "dvd-rom")

a i havent had any problems till ive been using anydvd without hd support...
when any dvd hd came out, and i installed it on my pc, the problem shows...
i really need a right solution of my problem with freezing a movie at the beginning...

Memorex is your problem get better blank media.

Yes.

Use Maxell Broadcast Quality Series 8x (not regular junk Maxells you find everywhere), Verbatim 8x & 16x, or Taiyo Yuden (not Valueline)

For DVD+R DLs use Verbatim made in Singapore (not India) or MAM-A 8x

memorex dvd-r

memorex are the worst dvd-r blank that i bout and have problems all the time thats why i dont buy them anymore they suck its awaste of money

Thanx for your all suggestions, im really pleased of you, guys...ill buy verbatims next time in spite of i dont know exact difference between memorex dvd-rs and verbatim.

But the best for me, is that i found out where was a problem with the bad playing of the ripped and burned movie in the beginnig....
I feel a bit stupid :) but i didnt think that it could be in this (everything that i had to do was): UNCHECK hd dvd support and blue ray support

So, if anyone will have a similar problem, try first to uncheck hd dvd and blue ray support, if you are ripping dvd...

Have a nice day to all people in this forum, especially in this thread.
