Upgraded to Vista Ultimate two weeks ago. Clean install and all went well. Only issue I am having is the ability to RIP DVDs to my HDD in a timely manner. When I used DVD DC the ehtire ripping process for a full 8gigs took about 14 miuntes. Then I would usually decode using CLONEDVD2 or DVDRB with CCE depending on wheter or not I was archiving. Anyway DVD DC will not run correctly under Vista, I now do my ripping using CLONEDVD2, no offence but it is very slow, its decode though is more than acceptable for 95% of teh stuff I watch.

How can I speed up the RIPPING process?

What are the other alternatives folks are using.

RIPPING with ANYDVD is no faster, already been there done that.

Could the built in CD/DVD burning application in Vista (sonic I beleive) be disabled, could this be affecting it. I have nothing else on my system that I use to burn.

Have a great day :)

CloneDVD2 is probably the fastest ripper you can find.

DVD Decrypter works for me on Vista, but has a small problem which you can easily bypass.

What speeds are you expericening?

At this moment I am using CLONE to rip cars, and it took almost 50 minutes to rip at full size, no compression.

YES, YES I got DVD DC to work as it should. I disabled the UAC in VISTA. Thanks for the suggestion.
