I have tried your solution by right clicking on the fox it still says there is not enough room on my D file which I know there is. Please help.

And how much free space exactly is on your D: drive?

1. Use Anydvd 6.3.0.9 beta: click http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6309.exe

You may need to reboot after installing if prompted to do so.

2. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Click "default". Click "ok".

3. Right click the red fox icon, and select "rip video dvd to harddisk." Choose your source and destination paths. Click "Copy", and wait for Anydvd ripper to finish. You can then import that rip into whatever program you want.

4. If you still have problems, then . . .

A) a) Ensure Anydvd is running.
b) Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader. Wait for Anydvd to scan the disc.
c) Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
d) Select "Create Logfile"
e) Wait for Anydvd to create a log file.
f) A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where Anydvd created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "ok".
g) Go to your My Documents folder
h) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f)
i) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif

j) If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
k) A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
l) Click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
m) click "upload"

B) State the full a)error message(s) you encountered (click "details"), b)tell us what program(s) you were using when you received the error message(s), and c) describe in detail what you were doing when you received the error message(s). What problem are you having exactly?

Run a "chkdsk /f" on your hard drive in a command window or within the drive dialog (right click in "My Computer" and choose the tools tab), allowing it to fix errors in the file system.

I've often ran into this issue when my computer was shut down irregularly. Windows "thinKs" there is more space until chkdsk re-allocates it properly...

What *is* your D drive? I hope it isn't your DVD reader/writer. It must be a harddisk partition with enough space (about 8 giga bytes).

You hit the "quote" button and look for a paperclip icon.

What is your "d:" drive--and how much space do you have on your "d:" drive?

To use the AnyDVD ripper:

(1) Make sure AnyDVD running and enabled. If the fox in the systray is red then it is.

(2) Put the DVD in your DVD reader.

(3) Right-click on the fox and click on Rip Video DVD to Harddisk...

(4) Select the DVD drive that you have the disc you wish to backup loaded in for the Source Directory.

(5) Select where you wish to save the backup for the Destination Directory. You can use the browse button to the right to set it or change it.

(6) Click the Copy DVD button on the bottom right and wait for it to finish. It will say when it's done.

I'd be curious to see what happens if you tried to rip to your C drive instead of D. Having said that are you sure the directory on the D drive that you are trying to rip the DVD to exists?

That's not an accurate answer. It certainly isn't "empty". Is drive "d" your hard drive? How much free space, exactly, is on it?

If I right click the red fox icon and select rip to hard drive and let it do its thing, then what do I do.

You use another program to burn the rip. So if I understand you correctly, you're no longer having a problem since you managed to rip the disc.

Im not trying to be stupid but you are loosing me on this.

I'm sorry, but you're going to have to be very specific about what you don't understand.

I moved this post back to your thread. Please don't post the same thing twice in different locations. It wasn't necessary to start a new thread. :)

Do exactly what the directions say and upload the ZIP file you created to the forum. DVD Shrink has nothing to do with creating the LOG file which is in the ZIP you are supposed to upload. Put the disc in your drive and follow the directions.

If you aren't having a problem with your back of the disc it's not necessary now. Just make sure you rip the disc to your HDD with the AnyDVD ripper and then shrink the files you ripped to your HDD with DVD Shrink.
