I keep getting a message that reads

data error cyclic redundancy check

If this was one time it would be no big deal but it has been the last 5 movies I have tried - everything worked fine for a couple of months but now it is not doing anything.

I have anydvd and clone dvd

Thanks!

Bad disc, even though you can watch it just fine there is modt likely errors on the disc. Exchange it for another.

1. a)Click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
b) Navigate to "Program Settings".
c) Click "enable logging".
d) Click "ok".
e) Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader.
f) Go to your My Documents folder
g) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip"
h) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif

i) if you don't see that icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
j) a small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
k) click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
l) click "upload"

2. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

I have attached for you.

And yes, it is my movies - we are going on a trip and I didn't want to take the originals with me in the car.

Thanks!

I have attached for you.

O.k. You've got a lot of junk/software that may conflict with Anydvd and Clonedvd on your system.

pwd_2k (system32\drivers\pwd_2k.sys), Version: 5.3.2.34 (5.3.2.34)
Company: Roxio
Product: DirectCD
Copyright: Copyright (c) 2001,2002, Roxio, Inc.
Description: Win2000 Framework for Packet Write Driver
FileVersion: 5.3.2.34
ProductVersion: 5.3.2.34

Cdralw2k (system32\drivers\Cdralw2k.sys), Version: 5.3.2.34 (5.3.2.34)
Company: Roxio
Product: DirectCD
Copyright: Copyright (c) 2001,2002, Roxio, Inc.
Description: CDRAL for Windows 2000 Kernel Driver
FileVersion: 5.3.2.34
ProductVersion: 5.3.2.34

Get rid of the packet writing software on your system (Roxio's Directcd). Packet writing software is known to conflict with many software programs including Slysoft's. If you want drag and drop functionality, use (invest in) dvd-ram instead, which is more stable.

cdrbsdrv (system32\drivers\cdrbsdrv.sys), Version: 7.5.0.0 (7.5.0.0)
Company: B.H.A Corporation
Product: B's Recorder GOLD7
Copyright: Copyright (C) 2000-2004 B.H.A Corporation
Description: CD-ROM Filter Driver for Windows2000/xp
FileVersion: 7. 0. 0. 5
ProductVersion: 7. 5. 0. 0
PrivateBuild: 7. 5. 0. 0

B's Recorder Gold . . . I'm not positive about whether this filter may cause issues, but it's possible.

MxlW2k (system32\drivers\MxlW2k.sys), Version: 1.0.1.104 (1.0.1.104)
Company: MusicMatch, Inc.
Product: MusicMatch Access Layer
Copyright: Copyright © 2000 MusicMatch, Inc.
Description: MusicMatch Access Layer KMD
FileVersion: 1.0.1.104
ProductVersion: 1.0.1.104

Musicmatch has been known to cause issues with Clonedvd in the past.

Cdr4_xp (system32\drivers\Cdr4_xp.sys), Version: 5.3.2.34 (5.3.2.34)
Company: Roxio
Product: DirectCD
Copyright: Copyright (c) 2001,2002, Roxio, Inc.
Description: CDR4_XP CDR Helper
FileVersion: 5.3.2.34
ProductVersion: 5.3.2.34

More Roxio packet writing junk.

So . . .

If you can't figure out how to remove (or uninstall these programs) these filters, do this (actually just follow these steps in order):

1.
i) Create a backup of your registry:
a) Click (windows) Start-->run-->type "regedit" (no quotation marks)-->hit enter
b) File-->export-->Select "Export Range all"-->choose a filename and a location-->click "save"
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)
iii) Run imgburn. Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "pwd_2k". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "cdralw2k". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Select "Cdr4_xp". Click "Remove Selected Filter". select "cdrbsdrv. Click "Remove selected filter. Select "MxlW2k". Click "Remove selected filter". Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

Keep in mind the programs that installed these filters will no longer function properly.

2. Use Anydvd 6.3.0.8 beta: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=80022&postcount=1
You may need to reboot after installing if prompted to do so.

3. Click the red fox icon on your toolbar. Click "default". Click "ok".
Also please ensure the A.I. scanner is set to default (click red fox icon-->navigate to "video dvd"-->"settings"-->"Automatic (default)")
And please ensure that logging is disabled under "Program Settings" (this step is very important).

4. Use the latest Clonedvd: click http://static.slysoft.com/SetupCloneDVD.exe

5. Follow the steps from this link in order: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476

6. If you still have problems, then . . .

A) a)Click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
b) Navigate to "Program Settings".
c) Click "enable logging".
d) Click "ok".
e) Put the problematic original disc in your optical drive/reader.
f) Go to your My Documents folder
g) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip"
h) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif

i) if you don't see that icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
j) a small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
k) click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
l) click "upload"

B) State the full a)error message(s) you encountered (click "details"), b)tell us what program(s) you were using when you received the error message(s), and c) describe in detail what you were doing when you received the error message(s). What problem are you having exactly?

C) from Frequently Asked Questions (READ BEFORE YOU POST)

Why am I getting CRC, TCSectorReader, or read errors in general when Clonedvd tries to read a disc? (click the text to find out)
