Data error (cyclic redundancy check) This means that your disc is bad return it for a new copy or try to clean it and try again.

Not so fast. Same problem here on a Vista Basic machine, XP seems to work fine. Eveything is updated but for some reason, the Vista machine gets the same CRC. I can "see" the disc in My Computer and sometimes see the files. However when I hit go, it gives the error. Disc is perfect and plays on a standalone.

So from what I can see either it's Vista related or maybe a certain DVD bruner related (my XP has different ones than Vista).

I tried to get a log and even though logging is on, I can't find one.

This is what I copied and noticed this, whatever it means:

Warning: .bup file location is wrong, .bup processing disabled!

Warning: .bup file location is wrong, .bup processing disabled!
RCE protection not found.
Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
Found & removed invalid VOBUs!
UDF filesystem patched!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 7 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

Update:

Saw where it said I hadn't set Region on DVD burner so I checked and it wasn't (new pc) so I changed it. However, I still get the same CRC error and this. Now it recognizes my h/w region change, but still doesn't work. I also tried burning to hard disc first:

Try setting the burner to region 1 and then re-try

ATAPI DVD ADH16A1L KH15 2006/11/08 11:08

See my last post....already did.

Actual error in a popup is FailedIO 0 E:Video_TS_\Video_TS.IFO

As mentioned my XP does it fine (started it but didn't finish it yet) but I wanted to see why it wasn't working on this one.

I had no problems copying it with latest versions of any dvd and clone dvd with windows xp

As I said, no issues here with my XP system just the Vista system. I use Any/Clone on both. I also tried the new beta 6.3.0.1

Warning: .bup file location is wrong, .bup processing disabled! This is normal.

Disc is perfect and plays on a standalone. This is also normal just because the disc plays fine on the standalone player doesn't mean the disc isn't bad.

Maybe a certain DVD burner related (my XP has different ones than Vista). This could very well be a possibility as some burners/readers are more forgiving on DVD's than others.

Is this the only movie that has given you a hard time in Vista and are you running the programs w/ Admin priv.
