Apple Homepage said:
H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats
Any mistakes?
Greetings

I don't think the 5.5G can do H.264 at 2.5mbps, unless it was updated by firmware after the Classic was released (which I seriously doubt Apple would do).

The highest it can do is 1.5mbps, I think. With regular MPEG-4 video, though, it can do up to 2.5.

This is the original quote from the Apple Homepage and if THEY say their product can do it, why do YOU think to know it better?

I'm not saying the 6G models can't do it, but the 5.5G don't allow it. I just tried to upload a 2.5mbps H.264 to my 5.5G 80GB, and iTunes wouldn't let me. Even if the video decoding chip is capable of that bitrate (whether it is or not I can't say), apparently Apple hasn't unlocked it in the firmware; nor would I expect them to in the future as they'd rather we all wasted more of our money on the marginally-improved Classic model.
