I am unable to update version 6.2.0.1 or 6.3.0.0 When I try to install it just freezes up. Have uninstalled previous registered version 6.1.9.3 and tried to install new. The same thing happens. I am running windows 2000 pro ... Thanks For your help

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot
d) Try running a registry cleaner program at this point like CCleaner
e) Download Anydvd http://static.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD.exe
f) Exit all Slysoft programs (including Anydvd, Clonedvd2, Clonecd, Clonecdtray, Clonedvdmobile, etc.). Check Windows Task Manager if you have to.
g) At this point disable your antivirus and firewall programs
h) Reinstall
i) Reboot
j) Install your license key (if required) http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=732
k) At this point enable your antivirus and firewall programs

May I add.....

As a PC Tech on Windows Machines, I may add that it is also very important to have all your Windows Updates as well as the suggestions posted, I totally agree that you should run Ccleaner after you uninstall any program/programs, especially the Registry cleaner! This will effectivally remove the uninstaller references in you registry. Ccleaner is in my opinion the Best Freeware out there right now for system optimizing.:agree:Note, also it is important to regularly defragment your hard drive & run disc cleanup.

I am also a PC Tech and I have never installed a Windows Update in XP...other than SP2. All of my, and my customers, PC's perform flawlessly without any of MS bloat.
I have some reservations about CCleaner's registry cleaning efficiency. I suggest using http://www.snapfiles.com/get/regseeker.html]Regseeker after running CCleaner.
