Question - Will it be necessary to buy special disks in order to backup these new format programs? I understand Blu-ray disks are capable of holding 5 gigabytes of information and HD DVD up to 8 gigabytes.

Blu-Rays can store 25GB on a single-layer, or 50GB on a dual.

HD-DVD are 15GB or SL and 30GB for DL (and 51GB on a 17GB per layer triple; not that this variant will go anywhere).

Why would they have even bothered with the new formats if the storage capacities were so low? Where'd you get that information?
