Source data too large!

I have been getting an error message the last 10 movies that I have attempted to copy. After creating the DVD files, when it attempts to write it says "source data too large, the writer is not capable of writing the source data as requested". It then prompts me to either re copy or clone the data....... this has never happened before until the last 10 attempts...i am lost and need help! Also creating files lately have taken 300 minutes instead of 30 or so.....

Select "dvd-5" near the quality bar in Clonedvd.

Also creating files lately have taken 300 minutes instead of 30 or so.....

13. My burns are taking forever to complete suddenly. Why?

a) Is DMA enabled for your drives in
i) Windows XP?
ii) Windows Vista?
iii) general?

b) Is the original source disc bad? If so, the reading process will take longer.
Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. Select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

c) Did you select an appropriate burn speed in Clonedvd? Obviously 4x is going to take longer than 12x.

d) Try another cable on the back of your burner (try an 80 wire cable if you have an ide burner). Maybe your existing cable has gone bad.

e) Try defragmenting your hard drive.

f) Ensure speed control is unchecked in Anydvd (or at least, ensure "Slow and Quiet" is not enabled).

If we select "DVD-5", doesnt the quality of the copy drop significantly? I just started using CloneDVD and ANyDVD this week so I'm trying to learn as well. That was just something I realized that popped out at me. I had the same errors happening to me as lordofthesith after I had changed my quality to DVD-/+ DL. I'm just curious. Please let me know how you get the maximum quality out of the burn without having the error. Thanks

That's the only proper option to use if you're using a single layer dvd for your backup.

You will be compressing the video when you select "dvd-5". This is because most original movie discs are double layer.
