I'm assuming you are using AnyDVD? If so update to the latest non-beta version (6.1.9.3) and then enable logging and post the ZIP file containing the logs.

You might also check the disc for any bad sectors using Nero CD-DVD Speed. There should be no bad sectors.

Spiderman 3 problem also

Am also having th problem with spiderman. reads till only 11 minutes to go and then error comes up.

I will now use CloneDVD2 to rip to the hard drive and reply when that is done as well. I did use a third party ripper to convert this title to IPOD format and that plays well.

Ok with the AI Scanner on default CloneDVD2 can't read it.

With AI Scanner on default anydvd can't rip it.

With the AI Scanner on fast, thorough, or deep...... clonedvd2 and anydvd can do it's magic.

I have no ideal what will be missed if anything changing from default.

With it off you can copy it too but like I said I don't know the actual files being altered are missed like the title menu extras etc.....

Charlie take a look at the Anydvd status screen, and ask yourself whether the AI scanner is really the issue--or whether what you're experiencing is some strange fluke. Anydvd doesn't have any problems with this disc at default settings.

This is a brand new DVD of course it's clean :p had to, yes I just now saw that part I just read to the point where it said sector is encrypted.

Please scan your disc with Nero CD-DVD Speed.

Again, take a look at the Anydvd status screen and ask yourself whether the AI scanner has anything to do with this issue.

It looks like Sony is back in the 'screw around with you' mood again with Spider-Man3.

I can't even read the DVD! I'm going to try the other suggestions mentioned in this thread.

Anydvd handles this disc perfectly fine. And actually, there's no protection on this disc other than CSS.

from Frequently Asked Questions (READ BEFORE YOU POST)

5. Anydvd can't see or detect my original dvd-video movie disc (or my drives can read cds and not dvds or vice versa). What should I do?

a) Keep your license key file backed up safely
b) Uninstall Anydvd (start-->all programs-->Slysoft--->Anydvd-->Uninstall)
c) Reboot
d) Check to see if your system ("my computer") now reports a disc in drive. Do you see a video_ts folder (if you're using a dvd)? Do you see folders or files?

If the answer is "no" to "d)", then Anydvd isn't your problem. As Anydvd is not on your system, Anydvd can't interfere or block the reading process. Possibly your reader or burner is slowing dying, the original disc is bad, or a number of other possibilities exist as well (including messed up ide/sata busdrivers, bad cable on the back of the drive, etc.)

If the answer is "yes", click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=1559 and follow the steps (note that step 4 requires you to post information)

Sorry, I should've put this in the AnyDVD section.

:-(

You've either got a bad original disc, or there's something seriously wrong on your system.

a)Click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
b) Navigate to "Program Settings".
c) Click "enable logging".
d) Click "ok".
e) Put the problematic disc in your optical drive/reader.
f) Go to your My Documents folder
g) You will see a zip file called "Anydvd_Info_titleofmydisc.zip"
h) When replying or posting in the Slysoft forums, look for the icon that looks like
attach.gif

i) if you don't see that icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
j) a small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't please ensure your browser is enabled to allow pop-ups from the Slysoft forums)
k) click the "Browse" button, and locate and select the .zip file you created.
l) click "upload"

Try cleaning your disc. Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labeled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).

It was my other DVD burning drive.

I've picked up Spider-Man3 right now with AnyDVD (I know that this is the CloneDVD2 forum):

Here's the files.

I hope that we're both right, and that it was the DVD drive.

Unless Iviaspi (used by Pinnacle Studio) is causing a problem, then it's probably the drive.

Err. . . did you create the .zip on the system with the bad drive?
